Dusting off the ol’ blog and getting back to posting (remind me in a few weeks if I seem to have forgotten!).
Mother’s Day is next week and I was able to hand-deliver this card to my mom this past week in sunny Florida. This is a simple card, but elegant & classic (in my humble opinion!).
I started off with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of watercolour paper. I wet the paper in the middle – right with clean water and scribbled on some colour with Karin Pro Markers. I blended this with a wet brush to achieve a simple watercolour wash for the background, followed by some ink splatters. I then stamped the script with Hero Arts Background Texture Strips stamp set – I can see myself using this versatile set a lot. The gorgeous Ginkgo leaves are from Altenew, stamped with The Stamp Market Curry & Fern inks. The Ginkgo leaves are die cut & adhered to the card front with foam adhesive. The burlap background is a die cut from Altenew. The sentiment from Waffle Flower Essential Celebrations is heat embossed with Ranger Sage embossing powder & also adhered with foam adhesive. The panel is mounted onto an A2 Kraft card. Enjoyable & easy to make, with classic motifs, in calming colours.
Why not give something like this a try and share it over on Instagram with the tag #seizethestamp & #craftyourhappiness – I’d love to take a look!
