March Colour Challenge

Welcome to the March Colour Challenge!

I was apprehensive about posting a new challenge with the current state of the world. I am heartsick over the situation in Ukraine and taking time to be creative was feeling indulgent, considering the horrible scenes of families fleeing their homes. On the other hand, card-making brings joy – it spreads kindness, puts out positive vibes into the world and has the power to be uplifting. I decided encouraging others to create, find joy & spread kindness with their card making felt like the right decision.

As last month, a random participant will be chosen at the end of the month to win a 25 CHF gift certificate to the Seize the Stamp shop. In addition to this, I will match the prize with a donation to Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund by Global Giving.

⁠So as we head into March – National Craft Month – I thought some soft Spring colours would be just the thing to keep us positive and light. I hope you will join in the challenge!

For my card, I used a combination of products. The flowers are from the Pinkfresh Studio Brighter Days set. I started off by hot foiling the flowers and then used the coordinating stencils to colour them with Distress Oxide Ink – Scattered Straw, Wild Honey. Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Rustic Wilderness. The floral cluster is embellished with Pinkfresh Studio Curly Leaves die. The sentiment is from a beautiful hot foil set by Yana Smakula, Blooming Floral Background. And this lovely saying, from this amazingly talented Ukrainian designer, felt very apt. The background panel is embossed with Altenew Linen Background.

And Michelle Burnier has created a soft & beautiful card using Pinkfresh Studio Artistic Blooms die, Sparkling Diamonds Coverplate & Fancy Words Script die & hot foil set. This card also feels to capture the energy of the moment.

And from Lien Leysen, a gorgeous bold card using Pigment Craft Co Delicate Floral Background & Stencil. What a beauty!
