Garden Roses Stenciling

Good evening, crafty friends. I’m popping on with a quick blog post to share a card I recently made in an Instagram live – to watch the video, click here.

I finally inked up my Pinkfresh Studio Garden Roses stamp set – and I was not disappointed! I had a hard time choosing colours for the stenciling – this is a realistic set and I wanted nice, smooth blending without vivid contrast between the colours. For this reason, I turned to Distress Oxide inks & Hero Arts Reactive ink – both blend easily and have a smooth, chalky finish.

I did a lot of trial and error to reach my final colours, but that is the fun part – don’t be afraid to take out a scrap of paper and test all your combos. Be sure to make a note of your favourites – I keep mine in a little binder on my desk. The ink combination for the roses was Distress Oxide Speckled Egg, Hero Arts Reactive Ink – Fog & Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough. The leaves are Distress Oxide Forest Moss & Black Soot.

Share some of your favourite colour combos in the comments below – I’d love to see them!
