Hey friends! Hope you are all enjoying a lovely summer so far.
I have a card to share today that really highlights the simplicity of creating with stencils. I have a *little* obsession with stencils. They really offer a lot of possibilities – they have stretched the possibilities of stamp sets, backgrounds, the list goes on. Ok, it might not be a ‘little’ obsession, but who’s asking?!
This card uses the Waffle Flower Spotlight Circle Stencil. Using this stencil & my handy Make Art Stay-tion to keep everything in place, I created this simple one-layer card. With the A2 guidelines on the stencil I got everything lined up. I started off by ink-blending the circle in the center – you simply remove the plastic circle, leaving the remainder of the stencil in place to serve as a mask. Using Distress Oxide Inks, I created a sunny center. I then replaced the circular mask and removed the A2 card-front plastic stencil, using the circular piece as a mask while ink-blending the background with Distress Oxide Inks. I dropped a few water splatters to get the reactive effect with the Distress Oxide Ink.
I finished off the card with a simple tree image from Simon Says Stamp One with Nature stamp set, stamped in Hero Arts Forever Green & a scripty sentiment. So easy and really striking. I hope you give these alignment stencils a try – they are really fun!
