PTI Anniversary Continues…

Hello again! So, I have a super quick post today. At about midnight last night I booked a last minute trip to California to see my family…so, now I have to have myself & my 2 yr old prepared to make a 12 hr journey on Thursday! I can’t wait for this impromptu break, which is really needed, but there is A LOT to do be done before we head off. So, rambling over – onto the card!

I am playing along in another Papertrey Ink anniversary challenge – this time featuring a word as the main focal point of a card. I layered the die cut ‘hello’ 3 times, a la Jennifer McGuire. I was really surprised what a big impact this made!

Ok, onto the next task – planning a birthday party for my little one at his day care, which now needs to happen tomorrow! Yikes! Thankful for boxed cake mix right now :-)

Quite the Pair

So, whilst you read this from the comforts of your home (or wherever you catch up on your blogs!) I am most likely about to pull my hair out on a flight with my 2 year old! Flying with an extremely active toddler is not fun. Ever. But, I digress. Here, as usual, to share a card!

I put this one together using some Studio Calico kits – love when things come together like this. It is actually the same layout as Thursday’s card – I cheated a little! I think this card is so sweet for a wedding.

Things will be a little quieter here ?(though I still have some things to share!) the next 2 weeks as we enjoy some time with my husband’s family!
Thanks for visiting!

Final Wee Memories challenge

Hello everyone & happy Saturday! Hope you are all enjoying your weekends so far. I’m here today with the FINAL Wee Memories challenge – I can’t believe we are really winding this great challenge down! It will be so sad to see it go, but we really do wish the best for Jenny and her stamping future :-)

This week’s challenge is a great sketch — and we have 3 fab sponsors – There She Goes Stamps, The Twinery & May Arts! Definitely make sure you play along – lots of goodies to be won! I used the There She Goes Stamp set called Love Birds – I had so much fun coloring this sweet image! The sentiment is Papertrey Ink, but there is a super sweet sentiment in this set (I’m just hopeless at using digi stamps!).

Thanks for stopping by & be sure to upload your creations to the Wee Memories blog by next Friday January 20.

Wedding Wishes

So, I’m headed to Texas bright & early tomorrow morning for my bestfriend’s wedding and have definitely waited to the last possible moment to make my card! On the plus side, I can now participate in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop because flowers are an obvious choice for weddings!

My colors are inspired by the current Totally Hues challenge - perfect soft colors for a wedding. I heat embossed the rose on Berry Sorbet cardstock, mounted onto Sweet Blush cardstock. I used Spring Moss for the leaves and stamped the image in Fresh Snow. Some light yellow pearls & Berry Sorbet ribbon finished it off. I adhered the rose with foam adhesive.

TGIF

Happy Friday everyone!

I had a request from someone recently for an engagement card and realized I’ve never come across a ‘Congratulations on your engagement’ sentiment in any stamp set — has anyone else? It is very common in the  UK to send engagement cards — and I’ve lived here long enough that I can’t remember if this is done in the states — is it?!?! Anyway, its on my *wish list* of sentiments…

So, onto the task at hand – this card is for Make It Mondays – Glitter Strips with Scor-tape and also the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop as I was able to use this lovely scalloped circle from Limitless Layers. I was definitely inspired by Dawn’s card in the video and already had my sites set on using this mat stack frame for the card as it is perfect for a wedding theme! The card says ‘Congratulations’ and it is a little hard to see in the picture, but fine in person!

The colors are inspired by the current Totally Hues Challenge over at the lovely Heather’s blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Month

Its a big month over at Papertrey Ink. They are celebrating their 4th year – its hard to believe that they’ve only been around 4 years. It seems every issue of every magazine has at least 1 Papertrey Ink product on every page. I have only recently started card making and have already built up quite the stash – every set is gorgeous!

Over at Nichole’s blog they are doing a BIG giveaway (huge, actually!) and in order to play along we’ve all been asked to select our favorite projects from the last year. This is a tough one as every thing I do probably has a PTI product, but I’ve narrowed it down to a few cards.

I posted this one recently for the January Blog Hop – I like that I did something a bit different on this card with the ribbon vase.

I also like this simple card I made a few months ago:
Lastly, I was happy with this set using Asian Fusion – one of my first PTI stamp sets and still one of my faves!
I can’t wait to see what PTI has in store for the year ahead!
Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hi everyone!
I’m participating in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop for the first time this month & was very excited about the challenge: ‘This month’s blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust!’

I have made 2 cards for the Blog Hop. The first uses Larger than Life and the second uses Heart Prints. Both of these sets are beautiful, but I don’t use them nearly as much as I would like.

Here is the first card – the sketch is based on the current challenge over at Clean & Simple Stamping – sketch 124 – and the colors are for the Neutrals Color Challenge for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week in the Moxie Fab World Challenge. This ‘ribbon vase’ is much better in real life! As I definitely freed my creativity on this one, I’m also entering into the current challenge at Wee Memories.

My next card uses Heart Prints & Fancy Flourishes – the sketch is based on the current challenge over at Get Sketchy. The colors are more pinks for the Monochramatics Color Challenge for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week  over at Moxie Fab World. This also fits nicely with the current challenge, ‘Sweet Inspiration’ over at A Passion for Papertrey.

Thanks for visiting & enjoy the Blog Hop!
