Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the Neat & Tangled Release Week. There is another fun stamp set being released today. This one is REALLY clever and perfect for Valentine’s Day projects. I think it lends really well to masculine projects, but of course can be used for anyone! The stamp set is called Jump Start My Heart & it will be available for purchase on Friday, along with the rest of this release. Remember to comment on the Neat & Tangled blog for your chance to snag this stamp set for free :-)

For this card, I used the ‘EKG’ lines to create a simple background for this card. I stamped the sentiment and embellished the label with a piece of patterned paper from the Amy Tangerine Stitched paper pad and some washi tape. The heart was stamped & heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder and adhered with foam adhesive. I threw on some sequins from the Full of Love pack for good measure. This card is meant to be masculine, but guys can have sequins too, right?

I hope you are enjoying the release so far – it has been so much fun to create with these amazing sets and the week is only half over – stay tuned for more amazing sets and be sure to check out all the great inspiration from the design team on the Neat & Tangled blog!

Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 1

Another seriously exciting day here in blog land! Today is the 1st day of the Neat & Tangled release week and I can’t wait for you to see all the amazing new products that are coming out. This release is PACKED with amazing stuff – you will love it! I had so much fun working with today’s sets – Falling Hearts & Will You Be My Valentine? – they are adorable.

My first card today uses Falling Hearts and an older set, You + Me. I used the Falling Hearts stamp to accent a piece of patterned paper. I purposely didn’t stamp it perfectly as I wanted a little bit of a distressed & imperfect look. I finished off the card with a partially-stamped circle and sentiment from You + Me (this stamp set gets SO much use in my craft room!). The paper is from the gorgeous Amy Tangerine Stitched line.

My next card uses the Will You Be My Valentine? stamp set. I adore this one! Danielle’s handwriting is absolutely gorgeous. On this card I also used the new sequin set – Full of Love. I used paper from an older Glitz pad – Wild & Free and the accents are all from the Crate Paper Notes & Things collection.

5 Minute Friday

Hello all. So sorry for my absence here lately. The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy, and, on top of that we are in the process of making some big decisions in terms of our next step with fertility treatment. There are so many factors to take into consideration and our journey with secondary infertility has not been an easy one. Some days, a few minutes in my craft room feels great, but lately I have been a little uninspired. I was pleased when I got in the groove yesterday though – it was nice to have a little mental break!

Anyway, onto today’s card, which is another instalment of 5 Minute Friday. I love quick cards to get things started and wanted something simple for Valentine’s Day for my husband – which was inspired by the current Mama Elephant & Me Challenge.

I kept things very simple with some ombre stamping on the central triangle image. I stamped the heart and stitched it into place and stamped the gorgeous sentiment on a pre-cut Studio Calico label – I adore these for quick cards. Last step was some silver ink spatters and called it a day when the timer was buzzing! I may add some Glossy Accents to the heart, but we’ll see – he probably wouldn’t notice anyway  ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I have more to share next week so stick around!

Paper Smooches Sparks Picture Perfect Challenge

Hey friends! For all my lovely friends in the states being hit with this terrible winter – stay warm! Being an Ohio native, I know how brutal it can be! We have had an usually mild winter here in Zurich so far – I am nervously awaiting a late onslaught – dread thinking of snow in April!

Anywho, onto today’s card! I’m here sharing a card for the new Paper Smooches Sparks challenge – this week is Picture Perfect.

LoveYouDearly_detail
I decided to go with the geometric heart & the colors for the inspiration, but went with a more watercolor effect to soften up the image. Actually, the Hip to be Square ended up stamping a little uneven on the watercolor paper, but I was ok with it – thought it added to the washed out look.

Unfortunately, the picture doesn’t do the card much justice – in real life the light pink is much more vibrant.  For the card I used Hip to be Square and Pretty Phrases

Thanks so much for stopping by today – have a great weekend and make sure to check out all the amazing DT creations & play along!

Valentine’s Day is a-coming!

Wow – I can’t believe it is nearly Valentine’s Day – which means it also nearly my little guy’s 2nd birthday – crazy! Time really does fly. Wish I could slow it all down sometimes…

Right, back to today’s card – a masculine card for Valentine’s Day – I think this one will be for the hubby. I used the sketch from Fusion for this card. And I am so happy that I finally inked up this adorable background stamp from Simon Says Stamp. Can I also say, I’m really pleased about the come back of velum – I hope it is here to stay for awhile – I could sew it on everything!

I’m also linking this up for the current Simon Says Stamp challenge – Have a Heart.
Ok, thats all for now – have a great day!

Love You Sew Much

Hello again!

Another quick card to share today. I haven’t even thought about Valentine’s Day, which is just around the corner, and also my little one’s 2nd birthday! I had a big party last year – this year I have NOTHING planned! I keep putting it off and now it is 2 weeks away – must get my act together ASAP. Anyway, onto today’s card.

SewMuch

This was inspired by Day 2 of Stenciled. I used a heart stencil to draw the hearts on the central panel – this is such a quick & easy idea – can’t believe it has never crossed my mind before! I used the sketch for the current Case this Sketch challenge and the adorable sentiment is from the January Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The angle of the photo makes the thread look very uneven, but in real life it isn’t! Ha!

Ok, thats all for me today – out all afternoon with appointments so no crafty time today. Wishing you a great day!

Mirror Stamping

Hey everyone! Hope your weeks are all off to a good start. I have a super quick card to share today using the mirror stamping technique that was covered in the Clean & Simple Card Making Class. I used some sweet Lawn Fawn animals to give this a try. I was definitely inspired by this sweet card Chari made using these adorable cows.

This card is for the Anything Goes challenge over at Simon Says Stamp! Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

1 stamp, 2 ways

Hello! Another quick post tonight – squeezing in some more Valentine’s Day cards. One of the great features of the Clean & Simple Online Card Class is the 1 stamp, 3 ways. I was attempting that with these cards, but only managed 2 ways…hopefully I’ll have a chance to come up with a 3rd variation sometime soon!

These cards use the Hero Arts Old Letter Writing woodblock stamp – in one instance as a portion of the background and in the other card, stamped onto die cut hearts.

The first card is for the current Passion for Papertrey Valentine’s Day challenge, too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Embossed Hearts

Hey everyone! I’m having a super busy week, so going to keep this short & sweet. It has started to dawn on me that my due date is fast approaching and there is lots to be done around the house (less than 3 weeks now!). I’ve been really enjoying the Clean & Simple Card Making Class but finding less & less time to make projects :-(

But, I did manage this quick card – I used a sketch from Day 1 and tone-on-tone embossing that I think was covered in Day 3 or 4. I also wanted to use a very white canvas, which was discussed yesterday – so lots of elements combined into one! This is also for the Moxie Fab Embossing & Debossing challenge and the Passion for Papertrey Valentine’s Day challenge – I used all PTI cardstock, ink & die cuts!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great rest of your week!
