Spring Blooms

Hey friends. Life is so crazy now! Just returned from a trip to Israel and heading off again for a 3 week trip to see family in the states. Can’t wait, but there is a lot to accomplish between now & next Thursday when we leave.

I was out today in Zurich running some errands and strolled through the flower and fresh produce market in Burkliplatz (downtown Zurich). I snapped some shots of the beautiful flowers for sale – they were all so amazing. I treated myself to a gorgeous bouquet of peonies – one of my favorites.

Back tomorrow with some card creations! Have a great night.

Last Installment – Hero Arts Sketch Challenge

Hello friends!

So, I’m popping in today for a VERY quick post. I arrived back from our holiday in Israel late Wednesday night, but my husband & son are still there for a few more days. I had to rush home to finish preparing for the Women’s Expo, where I will be exhibiting this coming Sunday. It is so strange to be in my house without the rest of my family! If I didn’t have to prep for Sunday I would have spent 4 days working day to night on Project Life – maybe another time!

Ok, back to today’s card – this is my last entry for the Hero Art’s sketch challenge. I finally pushed myself to try a different sketch, though I was still stuck on the watercolor stamping.

Congratulations
That is all for me today – back to pricing cards! Hope you have a great weekend!

One final Case Study creation…

Hello again. I’m back with one last Case Study Design Team submission. Another Lisa Spangler case going on here today. I love her watercolor look and also her use of patterned paper – 2 things I often reach for myself in my arsenal of paper crafting. It is hard to tell in this photo (not sure why – any advice greatly appreciated here!), but the sentiment is heat-embossed in gold. It is from the Studio Calico Bluegrass Farm card add-on kit – just adore the font.

Alright, friends. That is all from me today. Hope you are having a great week!

XOXO

Hello friends. Hope you had a great weekend. The weather has been rainy here in Zurich, but we’re staying busy. We are only here 2 more weeks until we head off again for a 2 week trip to see my parents-in-law in Israel. So, with an upcoming fair at the end of May and a whole load of other work, there is plenty to keep me busy in this very short 2 weeks!

XOXO

I’m here today sharing a card for the current Hero Arts sketch challenge – I pulled out some older Hero Arts/Studio Calico sets for this card. I love these images paired with the Basic Grey Capture line – great, bold patterns in this collection. I used sketch #3.

This card is another entry for the Case Study Design Team call as well – it is inspired by Lisa Spangler – who has been a long-time muse of mine!

Thanks for stopping by today & have a great day!

Hello Chevrons

Hey again. I’m currently en route to London – hoping for an easy, breezy trip with Jacob. The 90 minute trip to London should feel like nothing compared to the 12 hour solo trip to California that I’m used to doing!

Hello_Chevrons

More embossing paste fun today. Truth is, this card did not turn out how I wanted. I am going to share it anyway, and hope for any suggestions on how to improve what happened. I used this Avery Elle die to create the chevron border, which I then used as my stencil.

I wanted an ombre effect of chevrons along the top – I colored white paste with various shades of yellow & orange re-inkers. By the time I got to the darkest row of chevrons on the right, the stencil would no longer lay flat against the cardstock, thanks to the previous chevrons. So, I didn’t get the crisp lines on the last row. I’m not sure if I could have done anything to prevent this, but after many failed attempts, this was the best one, so I’m just accepting it and moving on!

This is another one for Virginia’s View Stencil challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by – I really appreciate each & every visit from you guys.

Paper Smooches Sparks – Picture Perfect

Hello! Its the best time of the week! Time for a new Paper Smooches Sparks challenge. I love these. And today’s inspiration photo is so much fun – check it

I wanted to capture the fun mood of all the gorgeous pennants & the bright colors. I used Bold Buzzwords to stamp ‘Hello Friend’ and fussy cut the words. I threaded these through the twine and embellished the twine with a few more flags & a stamped heart from the same set.
HelloFriend
Here is my thrifty tip for this card: those cute little flags were made out of the scrap of paper that comes on the top of a sheet of 6×6 paper (this is from the Amy Tangerine Plus One pad) – definitely getting the most out of my paper here!

Thanks so much for stopping by today – have a great weekend and make sure to check out all the amazing DT creations & play along!

7 Days

I saw this image on Pinterest – pinned from here – and it totally resonates. Right now, my list of things to get done & things I want to achieve is a mile long. Maybe 2 miles. I am in the process of taking an in-depth photography class online, re-doing my blog & website, developing an Etsy shop, participating in a few other classes online, prepping for a craft fair, making cards, doing Project Life and planning for some extended vacations, thanks to a change in my husband’s job (no complaint there!). Oh, and being a mom!
I want to make the most out of my 7 days. I don’t want to keep saying ‘someday I’ll catch up on Project Life’, ‘someday I will learn Photoshop’, etc. I am struggling with time management though and would love to hear some thoughts. Do you ban TV? Do you wake up in the early hours of the morning before your little ones to catch up on laundry, cooking, etc? Do you ban blog reading at length? Limit time on Pinterest?
Any thoughts totally welcome. I want to make the most of my 7 days. I want a lot less ‘somedays’.

Get Well Soon

Ok, you must be getting sick of these one layer cards by now – I promise this is it for awhile! Today is very similar to yesterday’s card – just swapped out the stamp set & changed to a cream card base. Crazy what a cream card and rounded bottom corners can do – the card has a completely different look from yesterday’s white card & straight lines.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day.

One Layer Cards Take 1

Sorry for the quiet blog this week. Try as I might, I couldn’t make anything blog worthy until today. I swear – I am only productive when I feel my time dwindling. I have some help with Jacob in the first part of the week, but my creativity only kicks in about 3 hours before that window of help is about to end. It is infuriating and if anyone has any suggestions on a remedy for this, I’m all ears!

HappyBdaycircles

I’ve been participating in the latest Online Card Class – blown away as usual by the talent – such inspiring projects. I thought I would try some sketchy Copic coloring, a la Donna Mikasa (one of my all time fave card makers).

I love these Papertrey Ink Circle Scribbles and this card came together pretty quickly once I chose my Copics. It is hard to see on the picture, but I covered the darker areas with Wink of Stella clear glitter and it is so shimmery in real life.

Ok, that is all for today – check back tomorrow for more 1 layer creations! Have a great day!
