Cupcake Craft Challenge – Single Layer Card

Hey everyone! Happy Monday!
Well, it is my week to choose the theme over at Cupcake Craft and I chose single layer cards. I think this challenge has caused some serious frustration amongst the lovely DT, so please accept my apologies! I also find single layer cards difficult, but they are so much easier to mail & make great card sets – I had a thank you set in mind when I made today’s card – I think I’ll reproduce this in a rainbow of bright colours.

So, give yourself a little challenge this week & play along! This week there is a great prize from Simon Says Stamp of a $20 gift voucher.

And, its the beginning of the month, which means we have a change in Toppings! This month, Icing on the Cupcake is joined by Polka DoodlesPolka Doodles are generously offering one lucky winner, chosen at random, a selection of four Christmas themed stamps:

And, don’t forget to check out the incredible DT creations!

Thank You!

I don’t often make card sets, but I thought I would start coming up with some single layer thank you note sets to expand my collection (apologies for the bad photos!).

I love Papertrey Ink’s Dot Spot & thought it would be fitting for the job. I stamped the double-ended banner stamp from Banner Builders and masked it off when stamping the dot image.

I also did matching & lined envelopes for this set – its amazing how much a decorated envelope can enhance a card! I used various Papertrey Ink Bitty Dot & Bitty Box papers in purples & pinks.

This card is for the current ‘Bring the Bling’ challenge at CAS-ual Friday.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card details:

A floral frenzy

It feels great to finally have a quick chance to blog something. I have lots of cards to share, but no computer at home is making it very difficult!! I am going to hopefully get a few blog posts scheduled now though so I can get caught up….

So, just a quick one for now. I finally had a chance to ink up one of my fave new 2011 Hero Arts stamps – Large Flower Blossom. I bought the larger, wood mounted version as I wanted it more for backgrounds. It is so fun to emboss resist! Sorry for the dark photo – not home during daylight hours enough at the moment!

This is for the current challenge over at The Paper Players – using blue, pink & espresso.

Thanks for stopping by and check back later for more!

Short & Sweet

A super quick post tonight – just about to head out for a date night but no restaurant booking, so its not looking good for 7:45pm on a Friday night. Oh well – we’ll be spontaneous!

Anyway, wanted to squeeze in this card I whipped up for the current sketch challenge over at Card Patterns. I thought this sketch would be very difficult for me, but found that this came together much faster than usual. I also haven’t jumped on the rolled flower bandwagon yet – not that I don’t love them, just haven’t ventured in that direction. I decided to give it a try using felt for this card & I really liked the result – not perfect, but a decent first attempt! One of my fave color combos as well – red, aqua & kraft.
