For the love of feathers

So, I was a little late to the game with the feather trend – and I’m still unsure about it sometimes – but, I’m going for it anyway. I do love what people do with feathers on their cards & projects…it is just in the back of my mind I always picture dirty pigeon feathers and my mom yelling “don’t touch that!”. Guess some things just stick, right?! Anyway, I digress – onto today’s card.

This card is for the current Mama Elephant challenge – I loved the pinks & silver so that was my starting point. I think the ethereal look of the Maggie Holmes Flea Maket Project Life card worked perfectly with the inspiration picture & as mentioned above, I finally purchased some feathery goodness. I used this amazing silver Sharpie to add some metallic details.
Thanks for stopping by & have a great night!

Paper Smooches Sparks Picture Perfect Challenge

Hey! Happy Sunday to all of you! I hope you’ve had a great weekend so far.

Today is an extra special day for me as it is my first post as part of the Paper Smooches Sparks DT. I am SO excited to be part of this team – great company, great stamps, great DT & great participants! The challenge this week is Picture Perfect with a very festive inspiration photo. I don’t have tons of Paper Smooches Christmas stamps, so I had to think a little outside the box!

Using Vogue Abode, I stamped a hexagon pattern on the edges of a white card stock square. Next, doing a lot of masking, I used images from Metropolis, Squeaky Clean, Needle Little Love, Reflections & Joyful Greetings to fill in some of my hexagons. The gorgeous big sentiment finished things off nicely! Be sure to check out the rest of the amazing DT creations!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hey friends!

I’m participating in the Papertrey Ink blog hop today for the first time in what feels like about a year! I never get my act together in time, but this month I somehow managed. The challenge for this month was to create 5 holiday tags. I love making tags but trying to keep things simple lately in the interest of time – stuck with a simple design, stamping & coloring – no extra frills.

For some reason these ended up being very time consuming, but not quite sure why! After coloring each wreath with Memento markers I covered the baubles with Stella Wink of Glitter – wish the photos captured the shine – really lovely in real life!

Thanks for stopping by!
