Simon Says Stamp Card Kit challenge

So, today is all about the February Simon Says Stamp card kit. I love these kits, but always feel a little disappointed that I don’t make more with them.

I set myself a goal to see how many cards I could make in 45 minutes – time is precious around here! Turns out – not that many. I completed one, and made decent progress on 2 others. Within an hour & a half I had 3 done. I assumed I would make at least 3-4 within 45 minutes, so it was a little bit of a reality check to see how much time I actually need to make something. Something to work on I suppose!

Thankful

I think I’ll give myself this challenge again sometime soon with a past Studio Calico kit that I haven’t put to good use. It is a useful exercise in pushing yourself to really create with the kits – a lot of the time I just absorb the materials into my stash :-)
Thanks for visiting & have a great day!

Finally, a card!!

Boy have I been quiet here!! Between my parents arriving in London & anxiously awaiting baby’s arrival, card-making hasn’t been the top of my list. Yesterday I did manage an hour of uninterrupted card making bliss & it was a great distraction from being a week overdue! So, in honor of our upcoming arrival – a baby card!

(click on me to view larger)
I have been following along with all the Papertrey Ink anniversary celebrations and wanting to play along & today my card fits the bill as these sweet animals have hearts on their bums. The colors are inspired by the fab piece of cake over at Moxie Fab for this week’s Tuesday Trigger.

Thanks for stopping by & hopefully the next post will be about our latest arrival – fingers crossed!

Cupcake Craft Challenge – Denim & Lace

Hi blog friends! Hopefully by the time you are reading this I am settled into our new house, but chances are I’m still surrounded by boxes! In preparation for the next phase of our lives, we’ve moved from our small central London flat to a bigger house out in the suburbs. It was hard to leave such a great location, but hopefully the extra space (and craft room!!) will make it all worth it. So, the big moved happened over the weekend and life has been manic as a result. But, I digress….

I’m really here to share a new Cupcake challenge – another fun one this week – Denim & Lace. You can use the colours or the real deal – I chose a little combo. I finally inked up this new background stamp from Hero Arts and did some emboss resist with various shades of blue Distress Inks + Perfet Pearls. So fun to get messy :-)

Our sponsor this week is the lovely Crafty Emma’s Store who are giving away a £10 gift voucher to their fab store – fun! And, for October we have 2 monthly sponsors. Polka Doodles are giving away one Pretty Sweet – Mini CD collection & Scrap Affair are giving away a 5 pack of Promarkers – great prizes so be sure to play along! And, don’t forget to check out all the great DT inspiration over at Cupcake!

Thanks for stopping by – and hopefully by the next time you come to visit my blog I will be unpacked and crafting away in my new little room!

Wee Memories Challenge & Blog Hop!

Hello blog friends! It has been awhile since I’ve been here – sorry for the absence! I have been suffering with some serious pregnancy-related pelvis issues and the couch has been my bf over the last 2 weeks…on top of that we’re moving and life is just crazy! But, I digress…

Today I’m here with a new Wee Memories challenge & blog hop. The challenge this week is to use your favorite style – no problem, right?! We’re also celebrating World Card Making Day. We’re grateful to be joined by our fab sponsor Unity Stamp Co, offering a free stamp set to the winner!

I love CAS cards, paper-piecing, glossy accents, sewing & plain old stamping, so here is a card with all that!

You should have arrived here from Laurel Seabrook’s lovely blog and your next stop is the talented Stephanie. Don’t forget to check out our October guest desinger, Piali, who is sure to inspire on this crafty day! And, if you get lost along the way during the hop, head back to the Wee Memories blog for the complete list.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you can get crafty on this very special day!

Cupcake Craft Challenge – School time!

Good morning! Its time for another Cupcake Craft Challenge – this time its all about Back to School. For this fun challenge I altered a notebook with some gorgeous washi tape from www.washitapes.co.uk and added a hand-made label with some thickers & flower accents.

If you haven’t already discovered the joys of washi tape, you must buy some ASAP. It is a great, inexpensive, light-weight embellishment for any paper craft project. AND, you can use this discount code for free shipping from Washi Tapes UKSTS01.

This week we’re joined by sponsor Quixotic Paperie who are offering one lucky winner a £10 voucher for their store. And our monthly sponsor for September is Bunny Zoe’s Crafts, who are generously giving away a £15 gift certificate to spend in their store full of goodies.

Cupcake Craft Challenge – Sew Mad!

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the long absence – life has been crazy lately! Really hoping to get back to my regular blogging soon though.

Today I’m back with another Cupcake challenge – this time it is all about sewing – real or faux! If you’ve been here before you know I love to sew on my cards, so this was a fun challenge for me. I decided to do something a little more ‘messy’ with my sewing this time – inspired by the wonderful Nichole Heady of Papertrey Ink.

So, what are you waiting for? Get out your sewing machine, Sew Easy or just a white pen and get stitching!

The sponsor this week is the lovely Paper Pretties, who are offering a lucky winner the ‘Giving Thanks Sophia Rubber Stamp’.

As August is birthday month for Cupcake (and me!) there are 3 sponsors lined up and plenty of stash to be won! We are joined by Crafts U Love, who are generously giving a £15 Gift Voucher to spend in their store, Mo’s Digital Pencil, who are offering a $10 gift voucher and lastly, Sew Sweet.  Sew Sweet are offering one lucky winner a £10 Gift Voucher.

Don’t miss out on the fun, be sure to check the Cupcake blog regularly for all the birthday month celebrations! And don’t miss the DT creations this week, they’re stunning!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey everyone! Happy Monday. As you read this post I will be taking a Copic Certification course in Rosemont, IL and preparing for a week of CHA fun! I am one lucky gal to be attending all this fun! Please excuse the quiet blog in the meantime ;-)

Today I have a card to share for our latest challenge over at Cupcake. This week is all about stars, which was a great challenge for me as I rarely create anything with stars! I made this card with my nephew in mind – he loves trains (sorry for the bad picture!).

This week’s sponsor is Crafty Emma’s Store who will be a lucky winner a £10 Gift Voucher.

Our Icing on the Cupcake sponsor this month is Polka Doodles, who are generously offering one lucky winner, chosen at random, a selection of four yummy Christmas themed Stamps:
