Hello

So, I don’t talk about personal stuff on here too much, but I am recovering from a surgery on Thursday. Having some fertility issues trying to conceive our 2nd child & had a procedure done that will hopefully help things. Nothing major, but nothing minor either, if that makes sense! I am anxious to get back in my craft room, but forcing myself to take it easy this weekend so I can recover. And definitely trying to stay positive!

Helloleaves

Anyway, I had time to sneak in this quick card before going into the hospital. I made it for the current Avery Elle challenge to use embellishments. I decided to use ribbon, which I rarely use anymore (strange as I barely made a card without ribbon a year ago!). This was the first time I inked up the gorgeous Modern Leaves – such a fun set to play with. The card is actually grey, but looks black in the picture.

Ok, back to the couch for me. Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Christmas is a coming!

Hey! Sorry (again!) for the quiet blog. Life is still crazy here. I don’t really know how everyone with more than 1 child does it – I can barely manage to keep things organized with 1 and he is only 20 months! Can’t imagine 2 or 3 kids with busy schedules – literally can’t image. Anywho, I digress.

I have a quick Christmas card to share – the holiday cards are now in full gear – my first Christmas fair is November 14th – yikes!

Sendingholidaywishes
This card is super simple & came together easily with the help of this gorgeous Authentique Christmas paper.  This sketch is really my go-to at the moment – good to find something that works when time is tight.

Oh, and I know I promised to be sharing my Project Life spreads. I wanted to say that I still plan on sharing, but the pictures of my spreads are so bad, I’m trying to improve some photography skills before I start sharing more!

Have a great day!

10 Minute Craft Dash #28

Hey friends!
So sorry for the quiet blog lately – I have had a lot to catch up on in this first week back to real life in Zurich after a month long holiday!

Anyway, here as usual on the 3rd Wednesday of the month to share a new challenge over at the 10 Minute Craft Dash! As a DT and big supporter of Paulina, we’d love some feedback on the challenge – you can read her post here. But, onto the fun – a new challenge sponsored by the fab Paper Sweeties.

So, onto today’s creation. For me the trick to getting the card done in 10 minutes is to use one of my go-to sketches. I don’t try to reinvent the wheel in 10 minutes – do what works!

Ok, thats all for today! Thanks for stopping by & be sure to check out the
amazing DT creations & play along.

A cheerful snowman

Hello! Can’t believe it is Wednesday already – really don’t know where the time goes! I have another quick holiday card to share today. I finally inked up the super cute Lawn Fawn Making Frosty Friends and made a very simple card that is easy-peasy to mass produce. The sketch is based on the current challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.

This card is also for the current Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp. Thanks for stopping by and have a good rest of your week!

Holiday Season

I’m here today actually sharing a card I’ve made that is not just for a DT! With moving house & getting ready for the arrival of baby, card making has unfortunately fallen to the bottom of the list, but I’m desperately trying to get some holiday cards made before its too late! And, I treated myself to a few early gifts this year and bought some fun Christmas stamps – I needed a little inspiration!

This card is for a few challenges – the sketch is based on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge for this week & I had so much fun inking up Waltzingmouse Big Blooms – Poinsettias. As I’ve incorporated a tag, it is also for the current CAS-ual Friday challenge. And, lastly A Passion for Papertrey is having a Christmas card challenge – perfecto!

Thanks for stopping by – hope you’re having a great week!

Wee Memories Challenge – Brads, Buttons or Bows

Hello blog friends!

I feel like it has been ages since I stopped in for a visit. Between moving house, being pregnant & trying to get a UK driver’s license, life is absolutely crazy. I have now set up my craft room though and its a real treat to create in my new space (even though I’ve only had about 20 minutes in there so far!). Its a small room, but its all mine and the mess isn’t offending anyone ;-)

I’m excited to be back in the swing of things sharing a card for the new Wee Memories challenge – an especially fun one – brads, buttons or bow. I love all of these things so this was easy-peasy for me :-) I chose to use a bow, but struggle to leave a bow without a button…

I’ve made a similar card in the past, but wanted to try to use some non-girly papers on this otherwise very feminine card and I think it turned out well! I never use this Cosmo Cricket Social Club paper & I definitely think I should break it out more often.

Our fab sponsor this week is Jay Gee’s Nook, who are generously offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner. Make sure to check out the store – it is full of paper crafty goodness. And don’t forget to visit all the DT blogs for a good dose of inspiration!

Hope to be back again soon sharing more projects!

Wishing you a lovely day & a chance to win!!

Just like my card says, wishing you all a lovely day!
I wanted to share a card using some Washi tape from Washi Tapes – I just love these patterns. It adds the look of patterned paper without the weight, and embosses like butter! And, guess what? The super generous people at Washi Tapes are offering one lucky person the chance to win three washi tapes  from washitapes.co.uk. All you need to do is tweet about this blog post and mention @washitapes for your chance to win. A winner will be chosen at random from the tweets – you have until midnight on Friday (GMT).
The flower is handmade with a mold from Mold Muse. A heat embossed sentiment & hand-drawn stitched line finished everything off nicely.
The colors are inspired by the current challenge at Play Date Cafe – I never use these colors, so was keen to take part and push myself a bit.

Thanks for stopping by & don’t forget to tweet!

Little Sweet Pea

Its been a very rainy day here in London – which meant I could justify some time for getting inky!

Just a quick card to share today for the Mojo Monday sketch & card recipe over at a Passion for Papertrey – The recipe called for 3 colours — I went for green, light pink & dark pink – ribbon & 2 buttons.
This card is a little busier than I’ve been making recently, but I love all these gorgeous new papers from the My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist line (sorry for the bad photo – gloomy day = dark picture).
Hope everyone has a nice end to their weekend & thanks for stopping by!

A vintage baby card

Hey everyone! Hope your Monday is going well. Yet another baby card to share today!

This sweet little vintage teddy bear is for our new challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge — things with tails. I’m sure everyone has a cute little critter they can ink up for this challenge so make sure to play along! I got out my new October Afternoon chipboard & paper for this card – I can’t get enough of that stuff!

This week we’re sponsored by the generous Simon Says Stamp.

Cupcake Challenge!

Hope everyone has survived the Royal Wedding weekend! Today is a very special day – it is my first week as a design team member for Cupcake Craft Challenge & I’m so excited to be part of the team.

As a special welcome we’re doing a special ‘Hello Cupcake Blog Hop’. If you’ve just arrived from Poppit’s blog then you’re in the right place! While you’re here, please leave a comment and then hop over to Sari’s blog! Here is a peak at the candy:

Don’t forget to leave a comment on each Blog in the Hop, including Cupcake and our Guest Designer and sponsor, Hayley’s for a chance to win the Candy from Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn
Additionally, if you use the following code: CUPCAKEBH during checkout at Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn anytime up to midnight, GMT, on 09 May, you’ll get a 10% discount on your shopping basket.

The challenge this week was to create something beginning with a ‘C’.  The possibilities are definitely endless with this one, but I thought I would go with a cupcake for my inaugural week :-) There is a great prize this week of a $20 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp and the Icing on the Cupcake monthly prize will be from Crafts U Love.

This was definitely made with a baby girl in mind – I paper pieced the sweet little cupcake image from Papertrey Ink Baby Button Bits and finally inked up Mat Stack 4 for the background label.

Make sure to play along with us this week & create something beginning with ‘c’ on your work; cupcakes, cherries, cars, circles, cerise, cyan, Christmas, clean and simple. You name it, so long as it begins with ‘C’, you can play it! Don’t forget to tell us what your ‘C’ is in your post.

You have until 8pm GMT on Sunday 08 May to place your entry for this challenge. Have fun & thanks for stopping by!
