Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop

Hooray! I made a card! Feels like it has been forever, but I finally got around to getting something made for this month’s Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. There are gorgeous color combinations featured on Nichole Heady’s blog and I chose something bold & bright for the holidays.

I was in the mood for some sparkle, so I added some silver washi tape to the bottom of this simple card and adhered the stamped panel with foam adhesive.

Here is the color combination I opted for – lots of bright, fun shades for the holidays.

That is all for me today – enjoy the hop – I’m sure there is lots of inspiration!

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop

Hello friends! I’m so happy it is Friday – what about you? We have booked a babysitter for tomorrow night for the first time in awhile and I’m ready for an evening at the movies and dinner. My little guy is teething – his very last tooth – and he is a handful!

I’m very happy I had a chance to make this quick card for the Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop. I loved the inspiration photo and was most drawn to the colors and the floral bouquet. I started off with a striped background, but found it too distracting for the bouquet, so opted for some subtle dots. I used this Hero Arts background stamp, which hasn’t been inked in years. I love it actually – so nice to use an old stamp and remember why you bought it in the first place :-)

Ok, that is all for me today – thanks for stopping by & enjoy the hop!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop – Aqua & Melon

Hey there! This is my 2nd post for the day – if you’re looking for my Sparks post, click here.

When I saw the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop theme I knew I wanted to play along – I love aqua & melon – no twisting my arm to join in! I also love the sketch over at Case this Sketch, so I thought I’d combine the two.

I punched out circles in various sizes and colored the back of the punched circles with Copics. I stitched through a few of the circles and added enamel dots to finish it off. I mounted the central panel on Melon Berry cardstock. For some reason the picture makes it appear more orange than in real life – it isn’t quite so harsh in person! I have also been experimenting a little with my photography (which needs a lot of improvement!) and I am testing out doing picture flat as well. Which one do you prefer?

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hey friends.

I’m so sorry for the quiet blog this week – life is crazy right now. We have a lot of travel plans, thanks to a break in my husband’s work, so right now when we are home it is a mad rush to do laundry and get chores done around the house. Unfortunately, card making has taken a back seat.

I am trying to sneak in some creating as and when though and wanted to participate in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. The theme this month is Embroidered Inspiration. I was tempted to get out the hand-stitching for this, but opted with some simple stamping to keep it easy. I went with Papertrey Ink’s Stitches & Swirls set for this handmade notebook.

I stamped the inside pages with other images from the set. I used Avery Elle pigment ink for this – I loved the result. I definitely prefer pigment ink on kraft to get a vibrant look.

Ok, that is all for me today. I will be back sharing some other projects soon! Thanks for stopping by today – I really appreciate it!

Wedding Wishes

So, I’m headed to Texas bright & early tomorrow morning for my bestfriend’s wedding and have definitely waited to the last possible moment to make my card! On the plus side, I can now participate in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop because flowers are an obvious choice for weddings!

My colors are inspired by the current Totally Hues challenge - perfect soft colors for a wedding. I heat embossed the rose on Berry Sorbet cardstock, mounted onto Sweet Blush cardstock. I used Spring Moss for the leaves and stamped the image in Fresh Snow. Some light yellow pearls & Berry Sorbet ribbon finished it off. I adhered the rose with foam adhesive.
Thanks for stopping by!
