Happy Birthday, Viktor!

Stopping in to share a very quick card. I made this for my husband’s birthday, which is today. He is now officially closer to 40 than 30, which is pretty crazy for him. Hoping a hip card will remind him he is still very young and cool ;-)

I created the background using some Studio Calico mist – Warm Calico and a this cool stencil with white embossing paste. I arranged some Studio Calico printable labels along the edge with some accents and a tiny strip of patterned paper. This layout is definitely my go-to design at the moment – hope you’re not sick of it yet!

Ok, that is all for today – off to prepare a birthday dinner!

Wee Memories Challenge & a blog hop!

Hi everyone!

Hope your weekend is off to a good start. Today is a special day for me – my first post as part of  the Wee Memories Design Team! Yay! For this week’s challenge the theme is Masculine Creations – something I know can be very difficult (but rewarding!). The sponsor this week is Graphic 45, who are generously giving paper & stamps to the winner.

For this card I used some of my favorite October Afternoon paper from Thrift Shop, which has a very masculine feel. The paper, along with dark neutrals and a simple block font, makes this a card I would happily give to a guy for their special day.

As a special treat, the Wee Memories DT is hosting a blog hop, so you should have come to me by way of Laurel’s gorgeous blog. Your next stop is the lovely Stephanie’s blog! If you lose your way, head back to the Wee Memories blog to see the list!

Set Sail!

Happy Wednesday! Hope everyones weeks are going well. I just got back to London from a short trip to Texas for my bestfriend’s wedding. A long way to go for a weekend, but it was worth it! I also managed to stock up on some new goodies whilst back in the states and couldn’t wait to ink up some new stamps last night – especially Wilson Design’s Nauti-Cool.

I did this for a friend to give to her hubby for his birthday – thought the theme & colors were perfect for a guy. I have seen similar designs in blogland with this set and couldn’t wait to try something similar (with my own spin!).

This card is for the current challenge at Off The Wall Craftiness and the sketch is based on the design at CPS. This is also for the Simon Says Stamp – for a male challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerful cards for a sunny day!

Hey blog friends! TGIF! It is a beautiful day here in London, so don’t spend too much time staring at your computer ;-)

A pretty long post today – I managed to get a few cards done for some challenges finishing today, so wanted to sneak them all in under the deadline.

First up – a card for a little boy turning 2 soon. I never make cards for little ones (besides baby cards!) so this was a fun change to pace. The sketch is for the challenge over at Skipping Stones Design and the because it is colorful, it is also going in for Wee Memories Color Challenge.

Next up, a sweet little baby girl card using the colors from the Off the Wall Craftiness challenge and the sketch over at Card Patterns. As usual, using my new Lawn Fawn Plus One set – it is getting an unfair amount of inky time compared to some other stamps in my collection ;-) Its hard to see in the picture, but the banner strip is stamped with the new Papertrey Ink Gingham background and its super sweet!

Last up, a birthday card for my friends father-in-law. I struggle with masculine cards and am always inclined to keep them very clean & simple. Not sure about this one though – it is looking a little too simple for me right now, but can’t put my finger on what it needs! Suggestions welcome! I used the stapled twine element from the card by Angie Hagist on the CPS blog – thought it was perfect for a guy! This card is for the CPS challenge & CR84FN Color Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!
