Day 3 of 12 Days of Holiday Projects

Hey there! Welcome back to Day 3 of 12 Days of Holiday Projects! We’re just a group of online crafty friends who love being creative. This time we’re doing a 12-day event to provide you with tons of Holiday Inspiration.

We’re making crafty projects using products we like and some of us are even offering prizes. Check each blog and the information there for what prizes are being offered and when the winners will be announced on that blog. You should check back here towards the end of the event – I’ve got some fun goodies to share :-)

At the bottom of this post is a list of all the crafty ladies participating in this event. Be sure to visit all the blogs each day for loads of fun Holiday craft ideas.

TGIF

Happy Friday everyone!

I had a request from someone recently for an engagement card and realized I’ve never come across a ‘Congratulations on your engagement’ sentiment in any stamp set — has anyone else? It is very common in the  UK to send engagement cards — and I’ve lived here long enough that I can’t remember if this is done in the states — is it?!?! Anyway, its on my *wish list* of sentiments…

So, onto the task at hand – this card is for Make It Mondays – Glitter Strips with Scor-tape and also the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop as I was able to use this lovely scalloped circle from Limitless Layers. I was definitely inspired by Dawn’s card in the video and already had my sites set on using this mat stack frame for the card as it is perfect for a wedding theme! The card says ‘Congratulations’ and it is a little hard to see in the picture, but fine in person!

The colors are inspired by the current Totally Hues Challenge over at the lovely Heather’s blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card details:
Cardstock: Rustic White, Chocolate Brown, Raspberry Fizz, Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist
Stamps: Birds, chain, cage and sentiment from Love Birds; Mat Stack 3 Collection (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: London Fog, Rich Cocoa (Tsukineko)
Accessories: glitter (Martha Stewart), rhinestones (Kaiser Crafts), die cuts/impression plate (Papertrey Ink), Scor-tape, corner chomper

A challenging challenge…

To get back in the swing of things after the break for the holidays I thought I would use some challenges to get me inspired. I chose the current sketch challenge over at Card Positioning Systems and used the colors from the Just Add Ink. The card is also for the background basics challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey – love the cards they came up with for the challenge. I found these colors very difficult, but still took a stab at it. Here are the sketches & color:

I don’t know if I *love* the card, but I had fun making it and using some new stamps, dies, glitter & felt!

Thanks for stopping by – I really appreciate it!!
