True Friend

So, I have had this Mama Elephant stamp set sitting in my ‘to be inked’ pile for a LONG time. I love the set, just never seemed to get around to using it for some reason. I finally inked it up & it didn’t disappoint! I love the gorgeous tree & the sentiment is really heartfelt.

I saw the inspiration photo for the current Mama Elephant challenge and knew I wanted to use the tree and play on the colors in the challenge for my watercolor background. The little butterfly is die cut from 3 pieces of vellum and colored on the back with various shades of blue and green and stapled in the center – it has really nice dimension and pulls all the colors together nicely. Bonus – it hides a tiny spot of not-so-perfect embossing!

That is all for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by – as always, I truly appreciate it!

Finally, a Summer card camp creation!

Phew, it has been such a crazy week – haven’t had any time to create at all :-( I finally got around to making a quick card tonight for the first week of Summer Card Camp using the featured color combo.

I love these bright colors and wanted to do something for a friend…
These butterflies are a very rich purple-pink in real life, but look very red in this picture!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend!

Hello dear friend

A quick little card today for a friend of mine. I love this little bird from Unity – I don’t use it very often, but I think it is so sweet. I paper-pieced this cutie with some old American Crafts paper – I know this was popular awhile ago, but I still can’t get enough of it. I have also been seriously hoarding this rose ribbon, but finally forced myself to use it! (Sorry for the plain background!).

This card is for the current paper piecing challenges at Wee Memories and Simon Says Stamp.
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Is it the weekend yet??

Wow! What a week – I have been super duper busy! Made this card recently to cheer up a friend and I think it is perfect for the middle of winter…
I got to use my yummy new Basic Grey Hopscotch papers, as well as some new Papertrey Ink Blueberry felt for the rolled flowers.
This card is for the current sketch over at Card Positioning Systems, the Make Your Own Embellishment challenge at Simon Says Challenge and the ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ challenge at the lovely Wee Memories.
Thanks for stopping by!

My fave color combo!

I was super excited to see the gorgeous color combo over at Stacy’s Stamping Stage this week – this is one of my all time faves – green & pink. I put together this CAS card using this colors – I really love the two-tone pink with the greens. Very fresh & cheerful!

I’ve also submitted this for the current challenge over at Just Add Ink – Just Add Love. I think its important to shower friends with lots of love as well, so thought this was appropriate!

Sew Lovely is….so lovely!

Hi blog friends!
Thanks for stopping by today – it has been a crazy week and I’m very excited for a relaxing weekend (fingers crossed!). A quick card to share today. I didn’t have a chance to make a single card all week (despite my hubby being out of town…) and finally sat down at my craft table at around 10pm last night. And, when I finally got the chance, my mojo had definitely disappeared. But, I did manage to put something together that I like.
I inked up Lawn Fawn’s Sew Lovely, which is tons of fun to play with and flicked through October Afternoon’s Thrift Shop paper pad for some inspiration, which always helps as I genuinely can’t get enough of that paper. I found a great color challenge to play along with over at Mona’s color challenge blog using Aqua, Red & Brown. This card is also for the ‘Whateva’ challenge over at Stamptacular Sunday – what a great challenge! The sentiment is very hard to see in the picture, but its lovely and subtle in real life!
Thanks for stopping by! It really makes my day :-)
