Love You Sew Much

Hello again!

Another quick card to share today. I haven’t even thought about Valentine’s Day, which is just around the corner, and also my little one’s 2nd birthday! I had a big party last year – this year I have NOTHING planned! I keep putting it off and now it is 2 weeks away – must get my act together ASAP. Anyway, onto today’s card.

SewMuch

This was inspired by Day 2 of Stenciled. I used a heart stencil to draw the hearts on the central panel – this is such a quick & easy idea – can’t believe it has never crossed my mind before! I used the sketch for the current Case this Sketch challenge and the adorable sentiment is from the January Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The angle of the photo makes the thread look very uneven, but in real life it isn’t! Ha!

Ok, thats all for me today – out all afternoon with appointments so no crafty time today. Wishing you a great day!

Gold Goodness

Hey friends.

If you’re looking for Day 10 of 12 Days of Holiday Projects, click here.

I have a non-holiday card to share today. I recently bought some new Neat & Tangled stamp sets & saw they have a challenge using gold & white. I also love the sketch over at Case this Sketch. Not sure about my card, but thought I’d share it anyway.

It is a little hard to tell in the picture, but the triangle panel is actually dry embossed with gold ink – I have never done this, but it was surprisingly easy! Like the effect – a little like letterpress, but less work. To get the gold frame I used a gold sharpie pen and traced inside the largest Lil Inker stitched rectangle die – a few places aren’t perfect, but I’m *trying* to be ok with that!

Thanks for stopping by today – really appreciate it!

10 Minute Craft Dash #26

Hey friends! Sorry for the lack of posts lately – I arrived in the states last week for a month long visit with my little one & we’ve been adjusting to the time change and running around like crazy seeing family & friends.

I’m here to share a new 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge. The entries have been great – so many inspiring cards! This color challenge was a *little* challenging for me, but I am so happy Paulina put these colors together – it really pushed me in a good way!

CD#26
I decided to keep things simple and use a sketch as inspiration. I rarely get out my embossing folders, but I’m glad I did for this card – lots of fun texture! I completed the card in 8 minutes & 49 seconds.
So, make sure to play along – we have a great sponsor – CAS-ual Friday Stamps are giving away a $25 gift certificate – woohoo!

Ok, back soon I hope! Thanks for stopping by.

Holiday Season

I’m here today actually sharing a card I’ve made that is not just for a DT! With moving house & getting ready for the arrival of baby, card making has unfortunately fallen to the bottom of the list, but I’m desperately trying to get some holiday cards made before its too late! And, I treated myself to a few early gifts this year and bought some fun Christmas stamps – I needed a little inspiration!

This card is for a few challenges – the sketch is based on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge for this week & I had so much fun inking up Waltzingmouse Big Blooms – Poinsettias. As I’ve incorporated a tag, it is also for the current CAS-ual Friday challenge. And, lastly A Passion for Papertrey is having a Christmas card challenge – perfecto!

Thanks for stopping by – hope you’re having a great week!

I never thought I’d see the day…

..during my pregnancy that I would actually make a card that wasn’t for one of my DTs and just for fun! But, alas, that day happened this week and I am finally starting to get some energy back to get creative (something that has been completely zapped!). Hoping the trend continues and I can find the time, energy & creativity!

Today’s card is for the Play Date Cafe challenge, CAS-ual Friday challenge (embossing) & uses the Clean & Simple stamping sketch. I finally inked up Papertrey Ink Mehndi Medallion, which I love and got out lots of embossing powder!

Thanks for stopping by and have a good week!

My green thumb…

Well, not exactly….
This card was for the ‘Grandmother’s Garden’ category in the last Paper Crafts Call and unfortunately didn’t make the cut, but I thought I would share it here.
It uses one of my favorite new stamps, Flower Bird Garden, from the 2011 Hero Arts Release. I used the embossed resist technique – this is my absolute fave! The background of the image is stamped with the Hero Arts Friend Definition, but it is hard to see in the picture.
As the card uses embossing, I’m entering it into the Wet Embossing challenge over at There She Goes Clear Stamps. It is also a monochromatic color palette, and therefore being entered into the current Just Add Ink challenge and uses ribbon, so submitting it over at Wee Memories current ribbon challenge as well!
Thanks for visiting!

Card details:

Embossing, ribbons and sparkle…

Oh how I love thee…

Today’s card uses another one of my favorite go-to stamps – simple & bold, it doesn’t require much else. I made a whole set of these cards – they look lovely all lined up! I thought it would take me a long time with all the sewing, embossing and bows, but managed to do a set of 10 in one evening after work (that is quick for me!).

This card is for the Wee Memories Bowtiful Ribbon challenge (I could submit an endless amount of cards to this fab challenge!) and also for the Paper Players Wet Embossing challenge. I use a lot of embossing in my cards, especially white embossing on dark or bright colored cardstock, so may have a few more submissions for this fun challenge before Friday.

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper: card blank (Woodware), cardstock (Blade Rubber Stamps)
Stamps: Starburst Lace (Hero Arts), sentiment from Get Merry! (Hero Arts)
Ink: Cardinal (Versacolor)
