Lacey goodness

A super quick post tonight – I have tons to do, so going to keep this short!

I finally got out my new Turning a New Leaf die today to make this card – I have been wanting to use it since it arrived. I rarely use lace, but was inspired by the challenge over at the Embellish Magazine blog to use decorative trim & shades of green. I also took inspiration from the current card being featured in the CASE challenge. All of this green reminds me of things blooming, so its also for the A Passion for Papertrey challenge.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

A busy day of card making!

Hi everyone & thanks for stopping by.
I’m so happy its the weekend. My other half is out of town and I’ve been card making all day. Our flat is a big mess, but it has been worth it. I have made quite a few cards for various challenges that I’ll be sharing over the next few days.
My first card today is for the Embellish Magazine challenge – creating a vintage card using green, rust and yellow. The card is also for the Card Positioning Systems Sketch #190. Vintage does not come naturally to me, but I gave it my best shot!
Here are the fabulous colors for the Embellish challenge:

And here is the sketch for the Card Positioning Sketch challenge:
Here is the first card – I used an old book to create the flower – something I’ve seen on quite a few blogs and in magazines lately. The layout is also inspired by a card I saw in Create: Stamping by Belinda Chang Langner.
Here is a detail of the flower – I die cut scalloped circles and inked the edges with Distress Ink.
I have another card to share as well – this one is also for the Embellish color challenge (again!) and also for the 2Sketches4You challenge – I love their sketches, but always struggle to finish cards in time to take part! Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on the sketch:
Thanks for visiting – I really appreciate it! Stop back tomorrow for some more entries for the Wplus9 challenge!
