A Blog Named Hero July Challenge

Hey! Back today with another A Blog Named Hero guest post. Today is their new challenge – inspired by a Hero Arts artist. No problem there – their design team has all my faves – Lisa Spangler, Lucy Abrams, Jennifer McGuire & more! I chose Jennifer McGuire – she is so talented and such a sweet person too – I had the pleasure of meeting her 2 years ago at CHA.

Anyway, I love all her watercolor projects – I was inspired by the watercolor background of this project and used that as my jumping off point.

This challenge is sponsored by the oh-so-generous Simon Says Stamp – they’re offering a $25 Gift Certificate to the winner – yay!

Cupcake Craft Challenge – Denim & Lace

Hi blog friends! Hopefully by the time you are reading this I am settled into our new house, but chances are I’m still surrounded by boxes! In preparation for the next phase of our lives, we’ve moved from our small central London flat to a bigger house out in the suburbs. It was hard to leave such a great location, but hopefully the extra space (and craft room!!) will make it all worth it. So, the big moved happened over the weekend and life has been manic as a result. But, I digress….

I’m really here to share a new Cupcake challenge – another fun one this week – Denim & Lace. You can use the colours or the real deal – I chose a little combo. I finally inked up this new background stamp from Hero Arts and did some emboss resist with various shades of blue Distress Inks + Perfet Pearls. So fun to get messy :-)

Our sponsor this week is the lovely Crafty Emma’s Store who are giving away a Β£10 gift voucher to their fab store – fun! And, for October we have 2 monthly sponsors. Polka Doodles are giving away one Pretty Sweet – Mini CD collection & Scrap Affair are giving away a 5 pack of Promarkers – great prizes so be sure to play along! And, don’t forget to check out all the great DT inspiration over at Cupcake!

Thanks for stopping by – and hopefully by the next time you come to visit my blog I will be unpacked and crafting away in my new little room!

My green thumb…

Well, not exactly….
This card was for the ‘Grandmother’s Garden’ category in the last Paper Crafts Call and unfortunately didn’t make the cut, but I thought I would share it here.
It uses one of my favorite new stamps, Flower Bird Garden, from the 2011 Hero Arts Release. I used the embossed resist technique – this is my absolute fave! The background of the image is stamped with the Hero Arts Friend Definition, but it is hard to see in the picture.
As the card uses embossing, I’m entering it into the Wet Embossing challenge over at There She Goes Clear Stamps. It is also a monochromatic color palette, and therefore being entered into the current Just Add Ink challenge and uses ribbon, so submitting it over at Wee Memories current ribbon challenge as well!
Thanks for visiting!
