Papertrey Ink Blog Hop – Aqua & Melon

Hey there! This is my 2nd post for the day – if you’re looking for my Sparks post, click here.

When I saw the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop theme I knew I wanted to play along – I love aqua & melon – no twisting my arm to join in! I also love the sketch over at Case this Sketch, so I thought I’d combine the two.

HelloCircles
I punched out circles in various sizes and colored the back of the punched circles with Copics. I stitched through a few of the circles and added enamel dots to finish it off. I mounted the central panel on Melon Berry cardstock. For some reason the picture makes it appear more orange than in real life – it isn’t quite so harsh in person! I have also been experimenting a little with my photography (which needs a lot of improvement!) and I am testing out doing picture flat as well. Which one do you prefer?

Merry & Bright

Hi all! Hope everyone back in the states had a great Thanksgiving! I always get homesick this time of year and with no travel plans in site (being 30 weeks pregnant will do that!) it was especially hard. But, alas, I have lots going on & a lot to look forward to, so not all doom & gloom around here ;-)

A quick Christmas card to share tonight – this is for the current Hero Arts challenge, along with a Passion for Papertrey Christmas card challenge. I used some of the new Papertrey Ink Autumn Rose colour – I’m loooving it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Wee Memories challenge – Halloween!

Hey blog friends! Can’t believe another weekend is here – time is going so fast at the moment!

I’m here today with another fab challenge from Wee Memories – this week its all about Halloween cards & projects, so lets see your best orange & black creations ;-) Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Paper Smooches – I loooove their stamps.

I don’t have any Halloween stamps (need to fix that!), so I focused more on color for this challenge…

So, head over to the Wee Memories blog to be inspired by the wonderful DT and make sure to link up by next Friday October 14th!

Cheerful cards for a sunny day!

Hey blog friends! TGIF! It is a beautiful day here in London, so don’t spend too much time staring at your computer ;-)

A pretty long post today – I managed to get a few cards done for some challenges finishing today, so wanted to sneak them all in under the deadline.

First up – a card for a little boy turning 2 soon. I never make cards for little ones (besides baby cards!) so this was a fun change to pace. The sketch is for the challenge over at Skipping Stones Design and the because it is colorful, it is also going in for Wee Memories Color Challenge.

Next up, a sweet little baby girl card using the colors from the Off the Wall Craftiness challenge and the sketch over at Card Patterns. As usual, using my new Lawn Fawn Plus One set – it is getting an unfair amount of inky time compared to some other stamps in my collection ;-)ο»Ώ Its hard to see in the picture, but the banner strip is stamped with the new Papertrey Ink Gingham background and its super sweet!

Last up, a birthday card for my friends father-in-law. I struggle with masculine cards and am always inclined to keep them very clean & simple. Not sure about this one though – it is looking a little too simple for me right now, but can’t put my finger on what it needs! Suggestions welcome! I used the stapled twine element from the card by Angie Hagist on the CPS blog – thought it was perfect for a guy! This card is for the CPS challenge & CR84FN Color Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Glittery, sparkling prams…

If only they came like this in real life…
As mentioned, the week of baby cards continues (though hopefully I’ll take a break for some other creations too!) & today I am sharing 2 cards featuring Lawn Fawn’s adorable new Plus One set. I looove this set and couldn’t wait to ink it up. Luckily for me, everyone I know is having babies or needs baby cards for their friends! These cards are inspired by the card Nichol Magouirk did for the Plus One release.
It doesn’t come out that well in the pictures, but I highlighted the patterned paper of the 2nd card with a glitter pen and it adds the perfect amount of sparkle to this card. I felt it needed a little something as the colors are pretty untraditional for baby cards, but I think they’re so sweet!
These cards are for the current challenges over at Wee Memories – Anything Goes, A Passion for Papertrey – Hey Baby! & CPS – Card Positioning Systems sketch #211.
