Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 4

Another amazing day with new Neat & Tangled products. Today’s stamp set is a favorite of mine & I’m sure it will be getting a lot of love in my craft room – Handstitched. This adorable set comes with matching dies and has such a nice collection of images and sentiments.

I decided to make a super simple notecard set using the images – I had my mom in mind when I created these as she is an avid quilter. I kept it simple to let the sweet, stitched images shine. The cards are 3 3/4″ square.

So, there you go – super simple, super quick and shows off the gorgeous stitched florals perfectly! I can’t wait to play more with this set. Make sure to head over the Neat & Tangled blog to check out all the design team projects and comment for your chance to win this set! Don’t forget, all of the new stamps are available to purchase tomorrow on the Neat & Tangled website! Yay! Happy Thursday!

Simple Watercoloring Day 3

Hey friends. Back with some more watercoloring today. This is my 3rd instalment of Simple Watercoloring. You can find Day 1 here and Day 2 here. I love easy techniques and these mini cards came together in a snap. I used Papertrey Ink Circle Scribbles and Inktense pencils for some messy watercoloring. I used a technique I learned from one of Jennifer McGuire’s videos (if you do a search on her site for Inktense Pencils you will find it!). Basically, you wet a brush and touch it to the tip of the pencil. This gives you a lot of control over the consistency (i.e. how much water) and the color intensity. I have found this by far the easiest way to use these pencils. I have not had tons of success coloring directly on paper and then blending & smoothing. I think they’d be great with a bouquet of flowers or as a small gift. what-you-need_choosen

A Blog Named Hero – Christmas Quickies

Hey there!

Popping in to share a quick set a mini Christmas cards. I made these for the Christmas event over at A Blog Named Hero. This week they’re featuring quick Christmas projects.

These little cards came together super fast thanks to the amazing Hero Arts Brush Stroke set and the super fun neon inks. Each card measures 3″x 3″ and I think they took me about 2 minutes each – like I said, super simple!

Just a Note

Sorry for the quiet blog this week – don’t know where time is going at the moment. It is crazy to think it is almost July!

So, I’ve been making a few card sets lately. I always think I can whip these out quickly, but inevitably they take forever. This set took me all morning – maybe I’m just a slow crafter! Anywho, I managed to finish the notecards and some of the envelopes, but thats it. Check back soon for the packaging…
