A clean & simple congrats

Hey everyone! Wednesday already?? I don’t know where time goes…

Just a quick card today that I made using some new Lawn Fawn stamps – I love the images in the Bon Voyage set – the clouds are so sweet. This sketch for this card is based on the current design over at Card Patterns.  I used some Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg papers — I still love this paper pad. And the plane is covered with glossy accents. I do feel like there is something missing on this card, but can’t really put my finger on what…any thoughts?!?

I was debating on entering this into the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol, but I’m away for 2 weeks in July and don’t think I can commit to the schedule (not that I’d expect to make it through round 1!). This card is also for the ‘Clean & Simple’ challenge at Lawnscapings and the ‘Anything Goes’ challenge at Wee Memories – 2 of my fave challenge sites – be sure to check them out! And here is the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by & hope you’re having a great week!

Chevron, Butterflies, & Doilies, oh my!

There is a whole lotta stuff going on in this card today – patterned paper, stitching, doilies, felt, butterflies, chevron stripes…

The sketch is based on the Card Patterns challenge for this week and the colors are another entry for Totally Hues #7. I definitely associate chevron stripes with a more modern look, but I think they look nice as a subtle background in this somewhat vintage-y card — so this is also for the Chevron Chic Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Thanks for stopping by!

In the round

A super quick post tonight – I made a big mess making cards today and I’ve got to clean up before my other half gets home!

I never make round cards, but was inspired by the current challenge at Card Patterns & I thought I’d give it a try. This little number came together in no time and it is so sweet & cheerful – perfect for a new little boy! A great use of double-sided paper, which I often feel so guilty about using (I can’t stand the thought of one gorgeous side being stuck down forever!). Please excuse the bare nails!

The colors for this challenge are for the CR84FN Color challenge & because I used some chipboard stickers, this is also going into the Wee Memories challenge.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend!

Cheerful cards for a sunny day!

Hey blog friends! TGIF! It is a beautiful day here in London, so don’t spend too much time staring at your computer ;-)

A pretty long post today – I managed to get a few cards done for some challenges finishing today, so wanted to sneak them all in under the deadline.

First up – a card for a little boy turning 2 soon. I never make cards for little ones (besides baby cards!) so this was a fun change to pace. The sketch is for the challenge over at Skipping Stones Design and the because it is colorful, it is also going in for Wee Memories Color Challenge.

Next up, a sweet little baby girl card using the colors from the Off the Wall Craftiness challenge and the sketch over at Card Patterns. As usual, using my new Lawn Fawn Plus One set – it is getting an unfair amount of inky time compared to some other stamps in my collection ;-)ο»Ώ Its hard to see in the picture, but the banner strip is stamped with the new Papertrey Ink Gingham background and its super sweet!

Last up, a birthday card for my friends father-in-law. I struggle with masculine cards and am always inclined to keep them very clean & simple. Not sure about this one though – it is looking a little too simple for me right now, but can’t put my finger on what it needs! Suggestions welcome! I used the stapled twine element from the card by Angie Hagist on the CPS blog – thought it was perfect for a guy! This card is for the CPS challenge & CR84FN Color Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Is everyone having a baby girl???

Happy Monday blog friends!

Just a super quick post today – lots going on! I have had tons of requests lately for baby girl cards. I do *love* making baby girl cards – I can definitely indulge my cutesy, pink-loving side that I try to keep under control for the majority of my cards…

The sketch for this card was inspired by current sketch over at Card Patterns - make sure to stop by – they’re celebrating their 2nd anniversary all week long! The card is also for the ‘Someone Special’ Challenge over at Stamptacular Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by!

One more color challenge entry!

So, just another quick post for one more entry into the color challenge over at Papertrey Ink. I wanted to do lots more, but no such luck!

For this one, I wanted to challenge myself a bit, so I chose Dawn’s gorgeous color combo. I don’t often use this many colors, but I really admire her work and wanted to try. Here is my attempt:

The sketch is based on the current challenge over at Card Patterns and made with lots of scraps – so going into the Wee Memories challenge as well! Lastly, I’m going to enter this into the Love is in the Air challenge over at The Paper Players.

Stamps: Mat Stack 1, Love Tags
Ink: Rich Cocoa (Tsukineko), Snow White
Dies: Limitless Layers, Mat Stack 1, Sunshine Impression Plate

Short & Sweet

A super quick post tonight – just about to head out for a date night but no restaurant booking, so its not looking good for 7:45pm on a Friday night. Oh well – we’ll be spontaneous!

Anyway, wanted to squeeze in this card I whipped up for the current sketch challenge over at Card Patterns. I thought this sketch would be very difficult for me, but found that this came together much faster than usual. I also haven’t jumped on the rolled flower bandwagon yet – not that I don’t love them, just haven’t ventured in that direction. I decided to give it a try using felt for this card & I really liked the result – not perfect, but a decent first attempt! One of my fave color combos as well – red, aqua & kraft.

Thanks for stopping by!ο»Ώ
