Neat & Tangled Reveal – Day 2

Welcome back for another day of Neat & Tangled gorgeousness! Today’s stamp and die is stunning. The set is called Gardenia Blooms Journaling card stamp and it comes with a coordinating die. The size is perfect for pocket scrapbooking, cards, scrapbook pages and more.

For my first card, I wanted to focus on the gorgeous die cut. I embossed a sheet of paper with gold embossing powder – this is the quickest and easiest way to get gorgeous gold paper! – and then die cut the journaling card from the embossed paper. I mounted the die cut over a piece of floral paper from the Crate Paper Notes & Things 6×6 pad with foam tape to give some depth. The journaling card is mounted at an angle on another piece of patterned paper from the same set and finished off with some coordinating twine & a wood heart.

Next up, a simple watercolor card using the stamp set. The image is stamped on watercolor paper and I did some quick watercoloring with my new Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set – they are divine! I dry embossed a woodgrain pattern on the kraft card front and swiped it with a white ink dauber for a little bit of detail. I mounted the journaling card with foam adhesive – so simple and elegant.

Neat & Tangled Reveal – Day 1

Welcome to day 1 of the Neat & Tangled release week. There is so much in store for you this week – the stamps, dies and embellishments are all stunning! You are going to love it. Lets get right to it – today we are showcasing Send Pretty Mail, which is this month’s incentive stamp set, the Hoop die and the gorgeous new sequins.

For Send Happy Mail, I created a set of lined and stamped envelopes. This little flower cluster is perfect to decorate just about anything, but I thought it would look sweet on the back of an envelope – and you can’t go wrong with Danielle’s stunning handwriting! I lined all the envelopes with patterned paper to give them a little something extra.

I can’t wait to use these envelopes! I think a lined envelope is the perfect touch for a handmade card – and with a stamped image on the outside – swoon! This small set has endless possibilities – just wait until you see the rest of the design team’s creations!

Next up, the Hoop die and sequin packs. There are some great new colors this month, but I went for the cheerful mix of gold, orange and pink. I stitched across my card in an alternating pattern of pink & orange and used the hoop die to create a shaker for the sequins. The sentiment is from the previously released Crafting is my Jam stamp set.

Waffle Flower Challenge – Guest Designer

I am so honored to be a guest designer for the current Waffle Flower challenge. I love Waffle Flower stamps and was so excited to participate in this challenge. Here is the beautiful inspiration photo & color combo for the challenge.

Waffle Flower Challenge-20150427
I love the light & airy look of the photo – I was inspired to get out my mists and do a little spraying! I haven’t done this in a while and it was a lot of fun to get messy.

I did a combination of blues and mints for the hexagon background and did a few splatters with a dark green. The flower and sentiment are from the In Every Way stamp set and I just adore the large, scripty font. The flower was quickly watercolored. I stamped & die cut the leaf from Feather More in Gold Delicata ink – my all time favorite gold ink.

Hello Elle’s Studio fans! This month’s kit is amazing – full of so many gorgeous journaling cards and embellishments – and, bonus – it matches all of the Cienna line perfectly. Lucky for me, I’m so behind on my Project Life, I was able to put all my April goodies to use for last April’s spreads – ha! First up, here is a look at the gorgeous kit:

ES-April-2015
And here is my spread – I used lots of Cienna embellishments, along with some of the great journaling cards featured in this kit.

Be still my grey & yellow loving heart. This kit had some many gorgeous color combos to choose from – you will get so much mileage out of it. I also was a little apprehensive at first that it wouldn’t fit with all the pictures of my little guy, but it was really adaptable for a little boy, so fear not boy moms!

Next up, a quick card using some Cienna paper and embellishments, along with a few bits from the April kit. I love the mix of the wood, vellum, staples and stitching – lots of fun textures going on.

Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 5

The last day of Neat & Tangled release week is here – it went so fast! I hope you’ve been inspired by the amazing sets this week and all the gorgeous design team projects. Today we are featuring a really fun set, Giving Tree. This set is super sweet with lots of unique tree trunk images and the sweetest little owls.

Owls_day5_edited-1Owls__detail.day5

I kept this card super simple with some simple stamping and fussy cutting. I inked the edges of the owls and popped them up on foam adhesive for some dimension. I inked the card base with Distress Ink and and splattered it with some water to give some texture.
