Wee Memories Challenge – Brads, Buttons or Bows

Hello blog friends!

I feel like it has been ages since I stopped in for a visit. Between moving house, being pregnant & trying to get a UK driver’s license, life is absolutely crazy. I have now set up my craft room though and its a real treat to create in my new space (even though I’ve only had about 20 minutes in there so far!). Its a small room, but its all mine and the mess isn’t offending anyone ;-)

I’m excited to be back in the swing of things sharing a card for the new Wee Memories challenge – an especially fun one – brads, buttons or bow. I love all of these things so this was easy-peasy for me :-) I chose to use a bow, but struggle to leave a bow without a button…

I’ve made a similar card in the past, but wanted to try to use some non-girly papers on this otherwise very feminine card and I think it turned out well! I never use this Cosmo Cricket Social Club paper & I definitely think I should break it out more often.

Our fab sponsor this week is Jay Gee’s Nook, who are generously offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner. Make sure to check out the store – it is full of paper crafty goodness. And don’t forget to visit all the DT blogs for a good dose of inspiration!

Hope to be back again soon sharing more projects!

The cutest tissue box that ever was…

I recently purchased some of the new Lawn Fawn stamp sets and have been very excited to ink up On the Mend – it is so cute! I have been wanting to do some rainbow color scheme cards lately, so thought I would ink up the tissue box and give it a try. (sorry for the bad picture!)

I chose this particular rainbow scheme based on the current Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World and the sketch is for the challenge at Taylored Expressions.
Thanks for stopping by and happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there (including my own!).

Playing along with Play Date & CAS-ual Fridays

Hey everyone! A quick post tonight showing a card I whipped up for the Play Date Cafe & CAS-ual Friday challenges. I knew I wanted to play with both of these – gorgeous colour combo over at Play Date & so many options at CAS-ual Fridays.

For the CAS-ual Fridays challenge I chose the bottom row – Flowers, Buttons & Twine. I finally inked up my new Hero Arts Blossom Art stamp set – I love it! The sketch is based on the current design over at Clean & Simple Stamping.

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Sweet Pea

Its been a very rainy day here in London – which meant I could justify some time for getting inky!

Just a quick card to share today for the Mojo Monday sketch & card recipe over at a Passion for Papertrey – The recipe called for 3 colours — I went for green, light pink & dark pink – ribbon & 2 buttons.
This card is a little busier than I’ve been making recently, but I love all these gorgeous new papers from the My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist line (sorry for the bad photo – gloomy day = dark picture).
Hope everyone has a nice end to their weekend & thanks for stopping by!

Cupcake Challenge!

Hope everyone has survived the Royal Wedding weekend! Today is a very special day – it is my first week as a design team member for Cupcake Craft Challenge & I’m so excited to be part of the team.

As a special welcome we’re doing a special ‘Hello Cupcake Blog Hop’. If you’ve just arrived from Poppit’s blog then you’re in the right place! While you’re here, please leave a comment and then hop over to Sari’s blog! Here is a peak at the candy:

Don’t forget to leave a comment on each Blog in the Hop, including Cupcake and our Guest Designer and sponsor, Hayley’s for a chance to win the Candy from Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn
Additionally, if you use the following code: CUPCAKEBH during checkout at Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn anytime up to midnight, GMT, on 09 May, you’ll get a 10% discount on your shopping basket.

The challenge this week was to create something beginning with a ‘C’.  The possibilities are definitely endless with this one, but I thought I would go with a cupcake for my inaugural week :-) There is a great prize this week of a $20 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp and the Icing on the Cupcake monthly prize will be from Crafts U Love.

This was definitely made with a baby girl in mind – I paper pieced the sweet little cupcake image from Papertrey Ink Baby Button Bits and finally inked up Mat Stack 4 for the background label.

Make sure to play along with us this week & create something beginning with ‘c’ on your work; cupcakes, cherries, cars, circles, cerise, cyan, Christmas, clean and simple. You name it, so long as it begins with ‘C’, you can play it! Don’t forget to tell us what your ‘C’ is in your post.

You have until 8pm GMT on Sunday 08 May to place your entry for this challenge. Have fun & thanks for stopping by!

Not your average baby card

Another baby card to share today and this time using some very nontraditional colors. I loved the colors for the current challenge over The Play Date Cafe, but I had so many baby cards to make & I was determined to make it work! I think it turned out well – who says purple & turquoise can’t be used for babies?

The sketch is based on the current sketch over at the Clean & Simple blog and it is also for the Passion for Papertrey – Hey Baby! challenge. Lastly, as I didn’t use any markers, it is also going into the current challenge over at There She Goes Stamps.

Card details:
Cardstock: Hawaiian Shores, Royal Velvet, Stamper’s Select White (Papertrey Ink)ο»Ώ
Patterned Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle
Stamps: sentiment from Plus One (Lawn Fawn), bears from Baby Button Bits, Polka Dot Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Versamark

Glittery, sparkling prams…

If only they came like this in real life…
As mentioned, the week of baby cards continues (though hopefully I’ll take a break for some other creations too!) & today I am sharing 2 cards featuring Lawn Fawn’s adorable new Plus One set. I looove this set and couldn’t wait to ink it up. Luckily for me, everyone I know is having babies or needs baby cards for their friends! These cards are inspired by the card Nichol Magouirk did for the Plus One release.
It doesn’t come out that well in the pictures, but I highlighted the patterned paper of the 2nd card with a glitter pen and it adds the perfect amount of sparkle to this card. I felt it needed a little something as the colors are pretty untraditional for baby cards, but I think they’re so sweet!
These cards are for the current challenges over at Wee Memories – Anything Goes, A Passion for Papertrey – Hey Baby! & CPS – Card Positioning Systems sketch #211.

And, don’t forget to scroll down to check out my supply purge!

Lastly, there’s a new challenge blog in town with articles, swaps, interviews, videos, challenges, great prizes and MORE! Check out Lily Pad Cards!

Happy Mother’s Day

Hey everyone!

Just a quick post tonight featuring another card I did for Mother’s Day – which is coming up in just a couple weeks here in the UK. I used the color combo from Color Throwdown – orange, green & blue.  I used the same sketch as the post below – I have a few more fun color combos with this card for Mother’s Day to share later…

This is also for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge – Mother’s Day

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring is in the air!

Hi everyone & happy Monday!

It is starting to feel a little like spring in London and it makes such a difference – it is lighter later, warmer, the sun is trying to sneak out every once in awhile – its so nice! It really does make everything seem better – I do looove spring.

As it starting to feel like spring, I have definitely been drawn towards my cheery patterned paper and sweet floral stamps. When I saw the beautiful color palette over at The Play Date Cafe I knew I wanted to play along. Here is my CAS creation:

Here is the color inspiration photo:

Delightful Doilies are sooo delightful!!

Its been a super busy weekend and we still don’t have a computer at home. Luckily my husband brought his computer home from work so I have a chance to do a quick blog post.

I have really enjoyed the week of honouring over at Joy Taylor’s blog and she has posted a challenge for her readers to do the same. There are so many people I get inspiration from, but I really love Dawn McVey’s work and chose a card from the Love Birds release in December. I decided to do some Mother’s Day cards and did a lot of variations on color. Here are my creations:

Sorry for the dark photos – couldn’t get any good pictures of these with good natural light. The first card uses the new Papertrey Ink color, Royal Velvet – it looks very blue here, but it is a beautiful, vibrant purple and I can’t get enough of yellow & purple at the moment. In all these cards I have used the color that is 1 shade lighter for the layer on Mat Stack 3 – it is hard to see in the picture, but very nice in real life!
Here is Dawn’s card that I used as inpsiration:

Thanks to Dawn for being so easy to ‘honor’ and thanks to Joy for this wonderful challenge!
