5 Minute Friday

It has been SO long since I had a chance to just make something for the fun of it – and even longer since I’ve posted on the blog. Apologies for the delay  – between my new shop. my 3 year old, being 5 months pregnant and life in general, crafting has unfortunately taken a back seat. I did have 5 minutes yesterday so thought it was fitting to make a 5 Minute Friday inspired card.

Elephant_bday

This simple watercolored card came together SUPER fast thanks to the adorable images and sweet sentiment in this WPlus9 set – I adore this elephant! Unfortunately, the lighting in the picture doesn’t do the coloring much justice – there is a nice blue background around the balloon that isn’t very visible here.

That is all for me today – off for an adventurous nature walk with my 3 year old on this gorgeous spring day! Wishing you all a beautiful day & weekend!

5 Minute Friday

Hello & Happy Holidays! Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the year ahead. I always feel so homesick for my family this time of year if I happen to be far away, so I thought I would share a quick card that sums up my feelings nicely ;-)

This card was SUPER quick – there isn’t even any stamping which is rare. The twine is in fact blue (although it appears black in the picture) and I just love the combo of the mint green, mustard yellow and navy blue – must remember it for when I have more than 5 minutes!

Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season with loved ones close by. Enjoy the weekend!

5 Minute Friday

Hello all. So sorry for my absence here lately. The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy, and, on top of that we are in the process of making some big decisions in terms of our next step with fertility treatment. There are so many factors to take into consideration and our journey with secondary infertility has not been an easy one. Some days, a few minutes in my craft room feels great, but lately I have been a little uninspired. I was pleased when I got in the groove yesterday though – it was nice to have a little mental break!

Anyway, onto today’s card, which is another instalment of 5 Minute Friday. I love quick cards to get things started and wanted something simple for Valentine’s Day for my husband – which was inspired by the current Mama Elephant & Me Challenge.

I kept things very simple with some ombre stamping on the central triangle image. I stamped the heart and stitched it into place and stamped the gorgeous sentiment on a pre-cut Studio Calico label – I adore these for quick cards. Last step was some silver ink spatters and called it a day when the timer was buzzing! I may add some Glossy Accents to the heart, but we’ll see – he probably wouldn’t notice anyway  ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I have more to share next week so stick around!

5 Minute Friday

Hello friends! I hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday had a great holiday. It is always the holiday I miss the most living abroad. Usually I do something, but this year I was on my own with my little guy and we had a very busy week, so no Thanksgiving fare for us! I think I’ll request a Thanksgiving dinner when I’m home next :-)

So, in honor of my busy week, I thought I would do a 5 Minute Friday. I used the sketch from Case this Sketch and used my favorite wreath – Avery Elle Winter Wreath.

I kept the card super simple to stay within my 5 minute parameter – just stamping and a strip of wood tape to finish it off. I did add Glossy Accents to the berries, but admittedly that was after the 5 minutes was up!

Thanks so much for visiting today and have a great weekend!

5 Minute Friday…on Saturday

Hey friends. So, I didn’t get around to this post yesterday, but better late than never! I really admire all of you who have your blogs scheduled weeks in advance – I’ve never quite got the hang of that!

I have a super quick card for my 5 Minute Friday series. I love trying to make a card in 5 minutes – that is literally all I have some days so it is really satisfying. Disclaimer: the pink card base stamped with the stripes was already done. It was in my ‘to use’ pile on my desk, so I thought this was a good opportunity. I love pink & gold for a non-traditional holiday card. The rest of the card came together in no time – simple stamping a quick twine bow.

I am entering this into the Hero Arts Holiday challenge.

5 Minute Friday

Back today with a super quick one – a 5 minute Friday. I have had this Neat and Tangled triangle stamp in my ‘to use’ pile for awhile. I have been admiring it and I’m glad I finally inked it up. I love the graphic look with the white on the dark charcoal. I kept the card super simple with washi, a stamped label and some embellishments.

I’m linking this up to the Little Tangles Anything Goes challenge.

So, I’m keeping this post very short – its 10pm and I’m sitting in front of the the TV watching Scandal so I’m going to get back to putting my feet up.

5 Minute Friday

Hello! I hope you’ve had a great week. Nothing too exciting for our weekend and that sounds just fine :-)

I am REALLY hoping to spend some time in the craft room. I literally had 5 minutes this entire week – hence the 5 Minute Friday card another week running!

I love this new Solstice paper pad – and was excited to finally break it open. It also felt good to finally put a Studio Calico Project Life filler card to good use. I receive the monthly kit and have accumulated such a huge collection thanks to my painfully slow work on my albums. It is so satisfying to actually use product! I get pretty overwhelmed by the state of my craft room sometimes and the excessive collecting (read: hoarding) that permeates the room!

Five Minute Friday

A super quick post tonight sharing my latest 5 Minute Friday card. This one was super, super easy. I used some Basic Grey Highline papers, circles punches and a chipboard sentiment. The edges were accented with a Hero Arts white dauber. As always for my 5 Minute Friday creations, I rely heavily on patterned paper to help these come together in a snap.

Highline_blogThis card is also for Virginia’s View Patterned Paper Challenge.

Five Minute Friday

This super simple card took me all of 5 minutes – I love when this happens. All it took was an amazing sheet of patterned paper, a funky greeting and a little stapled embellishment. The key to these super quick cards is finding paper or background stamps that do the work for you!

HeckYes
The paper is from an older Amy Tangerine 6×6 pad that I have clearly been hoarding. The sentiment is from a recent Studio Calico kit & the woodgrain heart is part of the Studio Calico Essentials line – I have these in just about every color.
Ok – thanks for joining me for Five Minute Friday – give it a try and share a link below!
