When I walk into my studio, I feel like I’m a kid in a candy store – and the sensation happens every.single.time. The light & airy room is filled to the brim with gorgeous papers, ink in every color imaginable, stamp sets for every theme and occasion, ribbon, twine, buttons and washi tape – so much washi tape. It is a small slice of heaven, right here in Zurich, Switzerland.
I’m Rachel Izakowicz and this is the story of Seize the Stamp – my small-time crafting business with big heart. I have been sharing my stories about card making on my blog since 2010, but my love of all things stationery started way back in my formative years in Canton, Ohio. The highlight of my summer was not the trip to the beach or amusement park (though I did love those!), but buying back to school supplies – the notebooks, folders, pens and pencils – I anticipated it all summer & it didn’t disappoint.
I grew up in a house full of fabric. My mom is a very talented quilter & designer – and we were always surrounded by ‘works in progress’ and helping out as she prepped all night for quilting fairs. I spent countless hours by her side, and her passion for the art of craft rubbed off on me – and so did her habit of staying up all night in a frenzy of craft-fair preparations.
Craft is an art – and Seize the Stamp is my way of sharing this belief with anyone who will listen. Every item I make is unique and created with a meticulous attention to detail. The total bliss I feel when I’m working in my cluttered, colorful office is put into my art – and, in turn, passed on to you.
On my blog, you’ll find inspiration and information about paper crafting. From wallpaper samples to floral arrangements at the local florist, there is inspiration to be found everywhere. Join me behind the scenes as I share my creations, organization skills, scrapbook pages and feelings on being a mom, life abroad and much more.
I’m so happy you’re here and I would love to hear from you – feel free to contact me with any questions or feedback!
