5 Minute Friday

This 5 Minute Friday is also going to be a 5 minute post! Its 10:30pm here – my little one just went to bed and I have finally put my feet up for some Downton Abbey.

Today’s card is such a simple one. I adore these feathers from the Avery Elle Look Up set – they are perfect for quick watercoloring. I went with an ombre color scheme and some glitter in the center to make things a bit sparkly.

That’s all for me tonight – thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend!

Stampable Succulents

Hello! I’m so sorry for the quiet blog this last week. I am actually in the process of opening a little shop – I will be 1 tenant in an atelier-style store here in Zurich and I have tons to do for our opening in 1 month’s time. I’ll be sharing more information soon as we approach our opening for any of my local blog followers. It is very exciting!

I did have a few minutes to make some quick cards and I was so excited to ink up the Waffle Flower Potted stamp set. I adore this stamp! The succulent image is just stunning – perfect for so many techniques. I was pressed for time and did some quick & messy watercoloring. It is a simple, 1 layer card – perfect for mailing.

That is all for me today. Short & sweet :-) I’ll be back tomorrow with a 5 minute Friday. Have a great night!

Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 5

Today is the last day of the Neat & Tangled Release Week. I hope you’ve enjoyed it so far – it has been a lot of fun to work with these amazing products and I hope you are able to snag up a few for yourself!

Today we are showcasing the All My Heart stamp set which is part of the new ‘You’re So Neat’ incentive program. You will receive this adorable stamp set when you place an order over $50. You can also purchase it in the Neat & Tangled shop.

I kept it super simple today to let the gorgeous focal element shine.

I used one of my favorite tricks for this card – grab some cute Project Life journaling cards and call it a day! I do this A LOT. I heat embossed the sentiment on an ombre journaling card, and backed the card with a more detailed card. These are held together with a mini clothespin.

The rest of the team is showcasing this stamp today over on the Neat & Tangled blog – be sure to stop by, check it out & comment for your chance to win! And remember, you can get this for FREE if you purchase $50 – not hard to do after this release ;-)

Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 4

This release week is flying by – already day 4! Today’s stamps are my favorite of the whole release, and that is saying a lot as this release has been amazing!

Today we are introducing Paper Cut Flowers. This is such a unique stamp set – I have never seen anything else like it out there. The possibilities are endless – you could layer, watercolor, paper-piece, color with copics – there is a really nice combination of solid & open designs, which I always love in a stamp set.  We are also introducing a super cute die called Birthday Tags. Ok, onto today’s projects.

This first card I chose to use the solid flowers and and stamp a bold background. I covered the card front with a vellum fishtail banner and heat embossed the sentiment and small flower in Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I wanted the vellum to mute the colors a bit and I like that it is floating above the card. The sentiments in this set are gorgeous as well.

Next up, a softer card using a color combination I can’t get enough of – Hero Arts Dark Quartz, Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe & Hero Arts Pale Tomato. I did some masking to create this cascade of flowers along the right edge. I then stitched part of a Birthday Tag over the floral desing. I finished off the card with inked edges, a splattering of Pale Tomato ink and a woodgrain heart.

Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the Neat & Tangled Release Week. There is another fun stamp set being released today. This one is REALLY clever and perfect for Valentine’s Day projects. I think it lends really well to masculine projects, but of course can be used for anyone! The stamp set is called Jump Start My Heart & it will be available for purchase on Friday, along with the rest of this release. Remember to comment on the Neat & Tangled blog for your chance to snag this stamp set for free :-)

For this card, I used the ‘EKG’ lines to create a simple background for this card. I stamped the sentiment and embellished the label with a piece of patterned paper from the Amy Tangerine Stitched paper pad and some washi tape. The heart was stamped & heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder and adhered with foam adhesive. I threw on some sequins from the Full of Love pack for good measure. This card is meant to be masculine, but guys can have sequins too, right?

I hope you are enjoying the release so far – it has been so much fun to create with these amazing sets and the week is only half over – stay tuned for more amazing sets and be sure to check out all the great inspiration from the design team on the Neat & Tangled blog!

Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 2

Hello again! I’m back today with more Neat & Tangled goodness to share. Today’s release is a lot of fun.

There are 2 new dies coming your way on Friday – the first is the Origami Map Die, which coordinates with the amazing Origami Map stamp set. The other one is a Box Die and it makes the perfect little box for your cards & gifts. This box is adorable and has endless possibilities. Lastly, there is a coordinating stamp set – Out of the Box – perfect for embellishing this clever little box!

Map_Box_day2_blog

The box die was cut from a 6×6 piece of double-sided patterned paper and adhered to the card front. The map die was cut from patterned paper as well and I trimmed the map to leave only North & South America – the box couldn’t handle any more :-) I had graduation in mind when I created this card – someone who has a lot of travel & opportunity ahead of them.

That is all for me today. Make sure to stop by the Neat & Tangled blog for your chance to comment and win today’s stamp set!  Be sure to check out all the other projects as well – they’re amazing! All the new products will be available on Friday. See you tomorrow!

Neat & Tangled Release Week – Day 1

Another seriously exciting day here in blog land! Today is the 1st day of the Neat & Tangled release week and I can’t wait for you to see all the amazing new products that are coming out. This release is PACKED with amazing stuff – you will love it! I had so much fun working with today’s sets – Falling Hearts & Will You Be My Valentine? – they are adorable.

My first card today uses Falling Hearts and an older set, You + Me. I used the Falling Hearts stamp to accent a piece of patterned paper. I purposely didn’t stamp it perfectly as I wanted a little bit of a distressed & imperfect look. I finished off the card with a partially-stamped circle and sentiment from You + Me (this stamp set gets SO much use in my craft room!). The paper is from the gorgeous Amy Tangerine Stitched line.

My next card uses the Will You Be My Valentine? stamp set. I adore this one! Danielle’s handwriting is absolutely gorgeous. On this card I also used the new sequin set – Full of Love. I used paper from an older Glitz pad – Wild & Free and the accents are all from the Crate Paper Notes & Things collection.
