Watercolor Wreath & Happy New Year

Wow. I can’t believe that 2014 is nearly over. This year went so quickly for us – how about you? I am ready to ditch the bad from last year, keep the good and move on for a better year ahead. I am usually a big resolution maker but I think I may ditch the long list this year.  I think I will focus on all the positivity that comes with the excitement of renewal and just go with it. But, who knows, my inner list-maker may rear her head and I may make a long list of resolutions in the end anyway ;-)

So, today’s card is a quick & easy one using a new(ish) Hero Arts stamp I have been wanting to ink up for awhile. I love the handmade wreath look and it is super simple using a circle die cut to give you some guide lines to follow. I botched some of the watercoloring, but I’m ok with it!

Ok, that is all from me. Wishing you a VERY, VERY happy & healthy new year. I hope all of my readers out there are blessed with everything they want from this coming year. Thank you for the love and support over the past year. I look forward to continuing my creative journey with you in 2015 and I’m truly grateful for all of you!

Big, Big News!!!

I am so excited to share some MAJOR news today! I have been itching to spill to beans for a little while now, so I am super happy the time is here.

I have been asked to join the Neat & Tangled Design Team and I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely adore Danielle, her gorgeous products and the fresh designs. I can’t wait to use the stamps regularly and am genuinely looking forward to a year’s worth of creativity coming my way from the amazing design team and all the talented people out there using the products.

I will be joining a team of very creative designers who I feel humbled to be a part of – Danielle will be revealing them all this week on the Neat & Tangled blog – be sure to stop by and check it out.

I thought I would share some older projects with some of my favorite Neat & Tangled stamp sets – here goes!

Project Life Title Page – 2014

Ok, you might think the blog title is a typo – why on earth would I only be posting my 2014 cover page just days before 2015? But, alas, it is the real deal. I have only just finished my 2014 cover page for this past year. It is the sad truth and a glimpse of how behind I am on this major project. But, that’s ok. I am hopeful that I will finish it one day. And, if I don’t, I have lots of good memories documented already – glass half full, right?! So, without further ado, here is the starting point for last year. Fingers crossed I will do 2015 a tiny bit sooner!

I am really pleased with how it came out actually, so maybe it was good I waited until I had a year’s worth of photos to choose from. The colors – chartreuse greens, blues and yellows, seem to capture the mood of this past year and the words I chose to highlight do represent a feeling I am taking away from the year – things I may not have chosen at the start of 2014. Doesn’t hurt to have a whole year’s worth of new supplies to choose from either ;-)

I am hoping to stay more up to date this coming year and share my spreads more often, but I have learned from the past and I am not going to make a hard and fast promise or deadline – it just isn’t happening that way for me right now and that’s ok.

Wishing you all a great remainder of your weekend – thanks for stopping by!

5 Minute Friday

Hello & Happy Holidays! Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the year ahead. I always feel so homesick for my family this time of year if I happen to be far away, so I thought I would share a quick card that sums up my feelings nicely ;-)

This card was SUPER quick – there isn’t even any stamping which is rare. The twine is in fact blue (although it appears black in the picture) and I just love the combo of the mint green, mustard yellow and navy blue – must remember it for when I have more than 5 minutes!

Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season with loved ones close by. Enjoy the weekend!

Hello Darling Girl

Hello from Israel! We just arrived for our visit with my husband’s family and, whilst the weather is not amazing, it is nice to have a change of pace. Jacob is in heaven and that just makes life much easier!

I was able to make a few quick cards before we left town. This one was for our neighbors who recently had their 2nd baby – a little girl. I got to see her for a few minutes the other night and she is gorgeous. It is amazing how tiny babies are when they’re a few weeks old. I can hardly remember Jacob being so little and it was only 2+ years ago. Anyway, I digress, onto today’s card –

The sketch is based on the current sketch challenge from Studio Calico here.  I used this Studio Calico baby set, which I really love.

Ok, time to get our little one to bed. Hope you are having a great weekend!

1 Hour with Studio Calico Park Ave Card Kit

Hello friends. We are so nearly there with heading off for our vacation! Hooray. I am ready for a little break from grey Zurich. In the  meantime though I cheered myself up with an hour dedicated to the gorgeous contents of the Studio Calico December kit – Park Ave. I love the stamp set in this kit – it is such a fun builder set and I think I will get a lot of mileage out of it – especially the sentiments.

I managed these 4 cards in an hour – it was tight, but I did it!

I kept things pretty simple on these cards – quick watercoloring, basic stamping, some stitching and lots of fun patterned paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you are having a good week.

5 Minute Friday

Hello all. So sorry for my absence here lately. The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy, and, on top of that we are in the process of making some big decisions in terms of our next step with fertility treatment. There are so many factors to take into consideration and our journey with secondary infertility has not been an easy one. Some days, a few minutes in my craft room feels great, but lately I have been a little uninspired. I was pleased when I got in the groove yesterday though – it was nice to have a little mental break!

Anyway, onto today’s card, which is another instalment of 5 Minute Friday. I love quick cards to get things started and wanted something simple for Valentine’s Day for my husband – which was inspired by the current Mama Elephant & Me Challenge.

I kept things very simple with some ombre stamping on the central triangle image. I stamped the heart and stitched it into place and stamped the gorgeous sentiment on a pre-cut Studio Calico label – I adore these for quick cards. Last step was some silver ink spatters and called it a day when the timer was buzzing! I may add some Glossy Accents to the heart, but we’ll see – he probably wouldn’t notice anyway  ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I have more to share next week so stick around!
