Getting my watercolor on

Hey friends!

Yesterday I posted some photos of the gorgeous flowers I saw during a stroll through a fresh flower market in central Zurich. I really adore flowers. I am actually considering trying to get some part-time work in a florist to try to learn the trick to floral arranging – I think I would love it.  Even though I was most smitten yesterday with all the huge, blossoming Peonies, I was particularly taken with some mutli-colored roses.

Using this pictures as an inspiration, I did a little watercoloring with one of my favorite stamps of all time, Papertey Ink Year of Flowers: Roses. I didn’t worry too much (ok, at all!) about shading – I just had fun mixing up colors and doing some quick & easy coloring.

I didn’t get quite the perfect color match as the stunning roses from the market – I stuck with more oranges than pinks, but I like the result all the same. And heat embossing the image makes it so easy to stay in the lines. There is something so relaxing about coloring – this sort of project reminds me of the coloring books from my youth (albeit with slightly less gorgeous images!). Maybe that is why I like this card-making stuff so much – in essence, it is just a grown-up coloring book!
Ok crafty friends – lots to accomplish before calling it a night, so signing off! Thanks for stopping by – I really appreciate it!
