Owl Cuteness

Hey friends. What a whirlwind week for me. Last night was the Passover seder, so there was a lot to prepare. We had a great time celebrating with some friends here. And today is all about appointments – hair cut, that sort of thing – and tomorrow, off to London for a week! Haven’t packed a thing & to do list is a mile long before we head off, but that is just life lately!

Onto today’s card. I saw the stencil challenge at Virginia’s View and knew I wanted to play along. I have gained quite the collection of stencils in the last few months and don’t put them to good use often enough. I also love embossing paste, but never get around to using it – what a cool medium though! Love what you can achieve with it.

For this card, I used a Heidi Swapp star/heart stencil to create the cascading stars. I tinted the embossing paste yellow with a Papertrey Ink re-inker. I chose the dark grey cardstock to create a nighttime feel for my little owl. I did cover the stars with Wink of Stella, but it is very hard to see on the pictures – in real life it has just a touch of sparkle though.

Thanks so much for visiting today & have a great week!

Aw….this is so lovely and sweet, Rachel! (I have the exact same HS stencil and my embossed paste stars were a mess…so the project was abandoned). I love the rich color contrast of yellow and brown card stock! I love how you did the sentiment with the twines, too! Enjoy London! Thanks so much for playing Virginia’s View Challenge! Your support means so much to me!
