Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes

Hey friends! As I write this, I’m enjoying the California sunshine. I booked a last minute trip to CA to see my parents with my little guy. We arrived on Thursday and will stay a few weeks – a very nice impromptu break from Switzerland! But, apart from a few posts here & there, it may be a little quiet on here :-)

Anyway, onto the business at hand – a new Paper Smooches Sparks challenge – Anything Goes! This is an easy week, so make sure to play along. I was very excited to ink up the adorable Bitty Bungalows set and make a row of sherbet colored houses. I used the coordinating dies for the houses – I love when dies are open like the Paper Smooches ones – makes it so easy to stamp, color, then cut.

Ok, thats all from me – really hope you get a chance to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by today – have a great weekend and make sure to check out all the amazing DT creations & play along!

PTI Anniversary Continues…

Hello again! So, I have a super quick post today. At about midnight last night I booked a last minute trip to California to see my family…so, now I have to have myself & my 2 yr old prepared to make a 12 hr journey on Thursday! I can’t wait for this impromptu break, which is really needed, but there is A LOT to do be done before we head off. So, rambling over – onto the card!

I am playing along in another Papertrey Ink anniversary challenge – this time featuring a word as the main focal point of a card. I layered the die cut ‘hello’ 3 times, a la Jennifer McGuire. I was really surprised what a big impact this made!

Ok, onto the next task – planning a birthday party for my little one at his day care, which now needs to happen tomorrow! Yikes! Thankful for boxed cake mix right now :-)

Papertrey Ink Birthday Selfie

Hello again!

I am popping in quickly to share another PTI anniversary celebration card. I actually made this card for the Timer challenge before I realized I had already missed the deadline – grrr. So, its a simple one  – just 7 supplies & not a lot of frills! But, I thought I would use it for the birthday challenge instead – and just in the nick of time today as well…

PTIBday
And, for this challenge, we had to take a picture of ourselves with the card too – please ignore my ponytail hair and messy craft room!

That is all for today – thanks for stopping by!

Paper Smooches Sparks Picture Perfect Challenge

Hey friends! For all my lovely friends in the states being hit with this terrible winter – stay warm! Being an Ohio native, I know how brutal it can be! We have had an usually mild winter here in Zurich so far – I am nervously awaiting a late onslaught – dread thinking of snow in April!

Anywho, onto today’s card! I’m here sharing a card for the new Paper Smooches Sparks challenge – this week is Picture Perfect.

LoveYouDearly_detail
I decided to go with the geometric heart & the colors for the inspiration, but went with a more watercolor effect to soften up the image. Actually, the Hip to be Square ended up stamping a little uneven on the watercolor paper, but I was ok with it – thought it added to the washed out look.
LoveYouDearly
Unfortunately, the picture doesn’t do the card much justice – in real life the light pink is much more vibrant.  For the card I used Hip to be Square and Pretty Phrases

Thanks so much for stopping by today – have a great weekend and make sure to check out all the amazing DT creations & play along!

Papertrey Ink Timer Challenge – a minute too late!

Hello! Super quick post today. I wanted to share a card I made for Timer Challenge for the Papertrey Ink Anniversary even though I am past the deadline! Boo! This was fun – 7 supplies is not many at all and you really had to think creatively about stretching your supplies.

LiveLife

I wanted a few different shades of green on this card, but had to settle for doing some second generation stamping instead. I have had this Meadow Greens set sitting on my desk un-inked for ages so thought it was a perfect opportunity to put it to use!

Sorry about the bad photo – this was taken with only a wee bit of daylight left outside!

Here are my 7 supplies:
1. Ripe Avocado cardstock
2. Rustic Cream cardstock
3. Meadow Green stamp set
4. Ripe Avocado ink
5. Classic Kraft ink
6. corner rounder
7. twine

The card came together in less than 10 minutes thanks to a simple design!

Thanks for stopping by today & have a great weekend!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Celebrations – Day 1

Hey there! I love the Papertrey Ink anniversary celebrations each year. I am sucker for all the color combos & sketches. I made a card for Day 1 using a the color combo of Kraft, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf & Ripe Avocado – definitely not my go-to colors, but good to try something different! Now I’m feeling like the card looks a bit empty, but oh well!

Ok, thats all for now – hoping to create something else soon! Have a great Friday!

Valentine’s Day is a-coming!

Wow – I can’t believe it is nearly Valentine’s Day – which means it also nearly my little guy’s 2nd birthday – crazy! Time really does fly. Wish I could slow it all down sometimes…

Right, back to today’s card – a masculine card for Valentine’s Day – I think this one will be for the hubby. I used the sketch from Fusion for this card. And I am so happy that I finally inked up this adorable background stamp from Simon Says Stamp. Can I also say, I’m really pleased about the come back of velum – I hope it is here to stay for awhile – I could sew it on everything!

I’m also linking this up for the current Simon Says Stamp challenge – Have a Heart.
Ok, thats all for now – have a great day!

Make a Wish!

Hello crafty friends. I feel like there is so much exciting stuff going on right now in the craft world. Lots of great companies having anniversary celebrations – hard to get done anything done with my blog reader overflowing with inspiration!

Makeawish

I did manage to make a quick card for the current CAS-ual Fridays challenge – over the edge. I cut the card base a little narrow to allow for the banner hanging off the edge. This came together easily thanks to gorgeous Studio Calico Print Shop papers and a this fun sentiment set that I was so happy to finally ink up!

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I appreciate it!

On the Diagonal

Hey there blog friends! Can’t believe it is Monday again – it comes so quickly, right?!

Anyway, back after a little lull in creativity. Really couldn’t make anything last week- ever have weeks like that? I did manage to do something today, but not sure I’m loving it! Even so, felt good to just get in my room and be productive.

WellWishes

I wanted to play along with some of the WPlus9 anniversary festivities & today’s challenge was to do something in your comfort zone, which I suppose is clean & simple for me. I do love layers & paper, but more often than not I am drawn to clean cards – so thats what I went with. I used the great diagonal sketch at Case this Sketch as my starting off point.

Ok, thats all for me tonight. Thanks for stopping by – really means a lot!
