Love You Sew Much

Hello again!

Another quick card to share today. I haven’t even thought about Valentine’s Day, which is just around the corner, and also my little one’s 2nd birthday! I had a big party last year – this year I have NOTHING planned! I keep putting it off and now it is 2 weeks away – must get my act together ASAP. Anyway, onto today’s card.

SewMuch

This was inspired by Day 2 of Stenciled. I used a heart stencil to draw the hearts on the central panel – this is such a quick & easy idea – can’t believe it has never crossed my mind before! I used the sketch for the current Case this Sketch challenge and the adorable sentiment is from the January Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The angle of the photo makes the thread look very uneven, but in real life it isn’t! Ha!

Ok, thats all for me today – out all afternoon with appointments so no crafty time today. Wishing you a great day!

Bannerific

Monday already??? Where does the weekend go? Ours always fly by way too quickly!

I have a very quick card to share tonight. I could not get a good picture of this card for some reason – left it until too late in the day I guess – so apologies!

Banners

The card is for the current challenge at Case Study, where the muse is on my faves – Donna Mikasa. I created a similar background as the one featured on the blog, but used the Hero Arts Tweed pattern. I should have left it a whole piece, but unfortunately I cut it into strips. I was so sad once I did it, but I managed to incorporate one into a cluster of banners. The star banner is black, though in the picture appears almost navy.

Thats all for tonight – thanks as always for stopping by!

Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts

Hey friends.

Back again today to share a new Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts challenge – yay! What better way to start a crafty Sunday than with a fun sketch & Paper Smooches stamps?

And here is the fabulous sketch:

RI26.1.14

On this card I used the amazing new set, Botanicals 2. I am seriously smitten with all these gorgeous leaf images. And the sentiment is from Salutations – another personal favorite for elegant cards. I heat embossed the images on navy cardstock and did some partial die-cutting to get the leaves extending beyond the circle. And that kraft woodgrain paper – be still my heart.

Thanks so much for stopping by today – have a great weekend and make sure to check out all the amazing DT creations & play along!

Stenciled Day 1

Ok, it is already 9:30pm & I’m just now eating dinner and about to catch up on some Dowtown Abbey, so needless to say, I’m exhausted! I’m on my own this weekend with my little guy – weeknights are fine, weekends kinda suck. Ah well, did manage to squeeze in a VERY short crafty session during nap time today.

StenciledDay1

I’m participating in the Stenciled class & I only managed to watch Julie’s video as I had about 5 minutes to spare, but excited to catch up on the rest – all the projects look amazing! Anyway, this came together in a snap, which was a good thing as I needed it for a birthday party this afternoon ;-)

Alright, thats all for me – time to sit on the couch with my big bowl of zuchinni noodles & Downtown Abbey.

Project Life Weeks 1 & 2

Hey there!

Things have been busy around here…and I haven’t been feeling 100%, so apologies for the quiet blog lately. I wanted to share the first 2 weeks of my 2014 PL album. I am still really behind on 2013 & will be sharing those periodically, but my goal is stay on track with 2014.

I have figured out a way to make my life a little simpler with regards to this huge undertaking:
1) Print pictures at home. I don’t LOVE the quality, so good pictures I might order, but the majority of my photos are taken on my phone anyway, so it is no big deal to just print them here and be done with it.
2) Work exclusively with monthly kits. I subscribe to Studio Calico and I found this spread came together so much better when I forced myself to use the contents and not go searching through my big stash for every little embellishment.
3) Journal as I do the spread, as opposed to doing all the fun bits and leaving all the journaling blank (this is how Sept-Dec 2013 currently looks!).

I think that is it for my approach so far this year – hoping I can stick with the album as I love having it & even my 2 year old likes to look through it :-)

Ok, thats a lot of pictures! Sorry for the poor quality on these – still can’t quite get down a knack for photographing these spreads.

Bit Quiet Around Here!

Sorry for the quiet blog this week. Hopefully back tomorrow sharing some Project Life layouts.

Have a good night!

For the love of feathers

So, I was a little late to the game with the feather trend – and I’m still unsure about it sometimes – but, I’m going for it anyway. I do love what people do with feathers on their cards & projects…it is just in the back of my mind I always picture dirty pigeon feathers and my mom yelling “don’t touch that!”. Guess some things just stick, right?! Anyway, I digress – onto today’s card.

This card is for the current Mama Elephant challenge – I loved the pinks & silver so that was my starting point. I think the ethereal look of the Maggie Holmes Flea Maket Project Life card worked perfectly with the inspiration picture & as mentioned above, I finally purchased some feathery goodness. I used this amazing silver Sharpie to add some metallic details.
Thanks for stopping by & have a great night!

Back to reality

So, after a whirlwind, amazing weekend in London, it is back to reality here in snowy Zurich. I had such a great time shopping & seeing friends. And, it is amazing what you can accomplish when you don’t have a 2 year old with you! I was so efficient!

Anyway. I’m back today sharing a quick card, inspired by the sketch over at the Case this Sketch challenge. I recently received this adorable stamp set from Neat & Tangled as a challenge prize – I adore the font. I paired it with some Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste goodies for a super simple card.

Turning 2

Hey again!

A very quick post today – I’m busy catching up with friends in London and scouring the sale racks ;-) This is another birthday card for a 2 yr old – this time a little girl. I used some old Studio Calico goodies & piece of adhesive cork I’ve had in my stash for awhile now!

Birthday Balloons

Big day for me today – I’m off to London tonight for a weekend away on my own! It is the 1st time I’ve left my son and done something solo. I’m a wee bit excited (and a little nervous!). I have a super busy weekend of seeing friends & shopping – can’t wait.

Before I head off though I have a quick card to share. My husband will be taking Jacob to a birthday party this weekend for some other 2 year olds and this is the card for the birthday boy.

The card sketch is based on the current challenge over at Case this Sketch – always love their designs!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend!
