A Blog Named Hero – Christmas Quickies

Hey there!

Popping in to share a quick set a mini Christmas cards. I made these for the Christmas event over at A Blog Named Hero. This week they’re featuring quick Christmas projects.

These little cards came together super fast thanks to the amazing Hero Arts Brush Stroke set and the super fun neon inks. Each card measures 3″x 3″ and I think they took me about 2 minutes each – like I said, super simple!

Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit

Another weekend come & gone….so sad! I didn’t get much crafty time this weekend, but did have a chance to whip up 2 quick cards with the November Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.

I love these kits, but don’t have a chance to use up all the goodies nearly as quickly as I’d like. I’m now trying to create at least 3-4 cards from the kit before I integrate the supplies into the rest of my stash. Anyway, I digress. Onto the cards…

Thats all for me tonight – busy week with a Christmas market and a workshop – probably will be a bit quiet here! Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Mint Julep Cuteness

Happy Friday night! I’m super happy its the weekend – nothing too exciting planned, but looking forward nonetheless.

So, when a patterned paper pad comes along that makes my heart go pitter-patter, I feel the need to buy ALL the coordinating products. Its a wee bit of a problem, because these paper pads come along pretty frequently. One of said pads was Basic Grey’s Mint Julep. I adore the papers and thought all the embellishments were so sweet. As a result, I keep them in their pretty packages and admire them for months & months. Until yesterday….

Nothing earth shattering – just simple cards using gorgeous products – shockingly not even a stamp in site.

At least I’m putting a tiny dent in the growing stash! Btw, on the yellow card I used the We R Memory Keepers 3×4 punch. I bought it originally because I do Project Life (or attempt to at least!) and I am loving it for card making.
Ok, loves, have a great weekend!

10 Minute Craft Dash #30

Hey friends! 3rd Wednesday of the month & time for another 10 Minute Craft Dash (btw, how is it already the 3rd week of November????). Anyways, today we are joined by a fabulous sponsor – Uniko Studio for a $15 gift certificate. Reason enough to play along – love their stuff. And the colors this week are gorgeous.

First, a disclaimer about my card – I had the washi bow ready ahead of time. I used a tutorial on Ashley Marcu’s blog to make it & to be honest it was trickier than I thought and I’m not over the moon with the result, but I went with it anyway! This card took me exactly 10 minutes – it was a tight one with supplies flying around like crazy!

Stamped Notepad

Hey friends!
Just a quick post tonight – exhausted after an early start at a Christmas fair today – had to wake up at 5:30 to guarantee I could shower before the little one got up for the day.

Anyways, I’m over at A Blog Named Hero today sharing a simple little gift idea. I picked up a square notepad and stamped the sides with some lovely Christmas trees. I know there are companies that make these pads specifically for stamping and that would have worked a little better, but it still worked fine. Nothing ground breaking, but a nice little teacher’s gift or something along those lines.

The other project I’m sharing is a wine bottle tag – I always make tons of these around the holidays – my friends all love them and they are the perfect way to dress up a bottle when you are being hosted for dinner or a party.

A Moxie Fab Thanks

Hey and welcome to a very special day on the old blog. We are honoring Cath Edvalson, the Trends Editor of Paper Crafts Magazine and the mastermind of Moxie Fab World.

Withgratitude

Cath has touched the lives of so many of us bloggers. For me personally, the content and challenges on the Moxie Fab blog have pushed me as a card maker – from inspirational photos to challenges that push my comfort zone – Cath has definitely helped me on my artistic path. I remember the first time one of my cards was ‘spotted’ by Cath and featured on the Moxie Fab blog through a link in her post – I was beyond excited. To think that she even had seen my blog was so exciting! I had the opportunity to meet her – albeit briefly – at CHA in Chicago in 2011. She was walking around with Susan Opel and they both offered words of encouragement for me to continue submitting work to Paper Crafts Magazine. That conversation has stayed with me until now and serves as a reminder if I ever feel frustrated. Cath is such a kind, positive and genuine person – I am grateful to have been touched by her Moxie Fabness.

Soloved

Now, this is one huge blog hop to celebrate – I think the list is well over 200 participants. You should have arrived here from the blog of Therese Calvird and your next stop is Frances Byrne. If you get lost along the way – please stop by Moxie Fab World for the complete list or see the entire list below.

10 Minute Craft Dash #29

Hey friends! First Wednesday of the month and that means time for another 10 Minute Craft Dash! Woohoo! The challenge today is Feature Buttons and we are joined by the fabulous Denami Design for a great prize!

Today’s challenge was a nice change from the color challenges (not that they aren’t fun!) and everyone has buttons in their stash, so be sure to play along. The possibilities are endless – especially for Christmas. And, making 10 minute cards for Christmas is a must during this busy month!

CD#29
This card uses some Jillibean Soup woodgrain buttons I’ve been hoarding for a long time, a lovely sentiment sent from Simon Says Stamp, Simple Stories paper and an adorable woodblock Hero Arts stamp set.  The card took me 9 min 54 seconds – the little details like the orange pinked border strip and the bow always take me longer than I think they will – this one was tight!

Thanks for stopping by & be sure to check out all the beautiful DT creations and play along!
