Project Life – week 6 & 7

Hey friends. So I’m VERY behind on my Project Life. I had really big ambitions this year about doing the album & working on last years – but, still haven’t even finished this year! Oh well, I’m accepting it and moving on. I have finished most of it, apart from June – August. I am hoping to do a week here & there as I start working on 2014. I am also going to try to tweak my system a bit so I can stay more current – maybe print photos from home do less digital work, like collages & stamps/brushes. We’ll see.

Anyway, here are weeks 6 & 7 – way back in February 2012. They are small spreads  – I actually don’t take tons of usable photos! And the ones I do have I prefer to be small in collages as they aren’t so good ;-)

The hand stamped filler card is one I featured awhile ago on A Blog Named Hero. At this point in the PL process (I think I did these pages about 6-7 months ago) I was mainly using the Seafoam kit & I had just started receiving Studio Calico PL kits. It gets a little more interesting as time goes on!

Celebrate

Hello again! I hope everyone had an incredible Christmas – full of lots of laughter and quality family time!

AE_celebrate

I’m getting in the New Years mood and made this festive & colorful card, fitting for the upcoming holiday. This is another card for the Avery Elle challenge – using the same sketch as my previous post here – but a totally different look! I tweaked a few of the angles on this one…

Thanks so much for stopping by during your holiday break! I hope you are having a great one!

Hugs

Hey everyone! I’m sure everyone is so busy now that the holidays are nearly here. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by the ‘ol blog ;-)

AE_Hugs

Just a quick card to share today. I made this card for the current Avery Elle challenge. I recently got lots of new Avery Elle stamps so the challenge was the perfect kick I needed to put them to good use. This card is a little busier than the cards I’ve been doing lately, but I love all the gorgeous papers from the Crate Paper Close Knit line – so yummy!

Now that I’ve been looking at this card, I think it needed 1 more flower on the right side of the arrangement, but too late now! This Laurel set is a lot of fun to play with! Here is the sketch for the challenge:

Alright, that is all today! Thanks so very much for stopping by!

Quite the Pair

So, whilst you read this from the comforts of your home (or wherever you catch up on your blogs!) I am most likely about to pull my hair out on a flight with my 2 year old! Flying with an extremely active toddler is not fun. Ever. But, I digress. Here, as usual, to share a card!

Quitethepear

I put this one together using some Studio Calico kits – love when things come together like this. It is actually the same layout as Thursday’s card – I cheated a little! I think this card is so sweet for a wedding.

Things will be a little quieter here ?(though I still have some things to share!) the next 2 weeks as we enjoy some time with my husband’s family!
Thanks for visiting!

Final 10 Minute Craft Dash of 2013!

Hey! I can’t quite believe it is here, but this is the last 10 Minute Craft Dash of 2013. The 5 months on this DT have flown by – I looove this challenge and really wish it all the success in the future.

This instalment is very special – we are teaming up with the lovely & talented ladies from CAS-ual Friday to ring in the new year! The theme here at the 10 Minute Craft Dash is anything goes, but feel free to go with their New Year theme if you choose! And the prize is not to be missed!

So, onto today’s creation. First off – a confession – I had already stuffed a little glassine bag full of sequins & other goodies. But, the rest of the card took me exactly 10 minutes! I cut it close on this one – lots of stitching and last minute decisions about random embellishments.

#32
I used some of my favorite things of 2013 on this card – gold labels from a Studio Calico kit, gold chipboard hearts from Maggie Holmes Flea Market, Studio Calico Thataway Feathers & Carta Bella Hello Again papers.
Make sure to visit Pretty Pink Posh & check out all the amazing DT creations & be sure to play along in this very special final 2013 challenge!

Be You

Hey friends!

Popping in to share a very quick card today – lots to do in the final week before vacation! Haven’t even thought about packing the little one or myself! Had very big ambitions to wrap up 2013 with an onslaught of crafting & organization, but alas a never-ending cold is thwarting all my efforts.

BeYou_edited-1

I did have a chance to play over the weekend – made this cheerful card using the Mama Elephant Be You stamp set. I bought this to use on my Project Life, but happy to put it to use on a card as well. Lots of other mixed stuff going on here – a 3×4 journal card from Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste PL Mini Kit, Heidi Swapp papers and some Studio Calico embellishments.

For the stamped focal point, I first stamped it on the journaling card in a bronze pigment ink. I then stamped it again with a charcoal ink, cut it out and stitched it over the first stamped it, offset slightly.
Ok, that is all for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by – really appreciate it!

Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes Challenge

Hello!!! Where is time going, right? I cannot believe it is December 15th! One more week here in Zurich and then off on vacation to see my in-laws for the holidays. A change will be good, but can’t believe it is coming so soon!

Anyway, on to the business at hand! It is time for another challenge over at the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge site – and this week is easy – Anything Goes. This is perfect in the run up to Christmas as I’m sure you are busy finishing up those last holiday cards & tags.

GetWell

I decided to do a non-holiday card this week. I got a little technical with the die cutting on this one – tried to do an inlay effect in a rainbow of cardstock. I love the result, but it did take me a long time! I have always respected the die cutting genius of crafters like JJ Bolton & Laura Bassen – I have a whole new level of respect now! I also love all the cool angles everyone is doing on card fronts lately – makes such a big impact!

Getwell_detail

I covered the die cut letters & the stamped heart with Glossy Accents – I love the extra oomph you can achieve from something as simple as a clear gloss.  On this card I used the Get Well die cut and the heart stamp is from Vegtastic. A little Bella Blvd washi tape finished everything off!

Thanks so much for stopping by today – have a great weekend and make sure to check out all the amazing DT creations & play along!

Gold Goodness

Hey friends.

If you’re looking for Day 10 of 12 Days of Holiday Projects, click here.

I have a non-holiday card to share today. I recently bought some new Neat & Tangled stamp sets & saw they have a challenge using gold & white. I also love the sketch over at Case this Sketch. Not sure about my card, but thought I’d share it anyway.

IMG_0011_edited-1

It is a little hard to tell in the picture, but the triangle panel is actually dry embossed with gold ink – I have never done this, but it was surprisingly easy! Like the effect – a little like letterpress, but less work. To get the gold frame I used a gold sharpie pen and traced inside the largest Lil Inker stitched rectangle die – a few places aren’t perfect, but I’m *trying* to be ok with that!

Thanks for stopping by today – really appreciate it!
