A friendly bee!

There is a great colour combo challenge over at Cupcake Craft this week – orange, green & yellow. If these colours don’t shout summer, I don’t know what does.

I had lots of fun inking up Giddy Bugs, a Paper Smooches stamp set. I won this set and hadn’t used it yet, but I love all the images. Can’t wait to use it more! Even though I’m late on this one, the sketch was based on this design over at the Clean & Simple blog.

So, don’t forget to come join us at Cupcake — there is plenty to be won. Our generous sponsor this week is Pink Gem Designs. They are offering the winner 4 images of their choice! And our monthly sponsor is Crafts U Love, offering a £15 gift certificate!

Chevron, Butterflies, & Doilies, oh my!

There is a whole lotta stuff going on in this card today – patterned paper, stitching, doilies, felt, butterflies, chevron stripes…

The sketch is based on the Card Patterns challenge for this week and the colors are another entry for Totally Hues #7. I definitely associate chevron stripes with a more modern look, but I think they look nice as a subtle background in this somewhat vintage-y card — so this is also for the Chevron Chic Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You!

I don’t often make card sets, but I thought I would start coming up with some single layer thank you note sets to expand my collection (apologies for the bad photos!).

I love Papertrey Ink’s Dot Spot & thought it would be fitting for the job. I stamped the double-ended banner stamp from Banner Builders and masked it off when stamping the dot image.

I also did matching & lined envelopes for this set – its amazing how much a decorated envelope can enhance a card! I used various Papertrey Ink Bitty Dot & Bitty Box papers in purples & pinks.

This card is for the current ‘Bring the Bling’ challenge at CAS-ual Friday.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card details:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper: Papertrey Ink
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Ink: Tsukineko
Accessories: rhinestones (Kaiser); die cut (Papertrey Ink, Cricut);

Wedding Wishes

So, I’m headed to Texas bright & early tomorrow morning for my bestfriend’s wedding and have definitely waited to the last possible moment to make my card! On the plus side, I can now participate in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop because flowers are an obvious choice for weddings!

My colors are inspired by the current Totally Hues challenge - perfect soft colors for a wedding. I heat embossed the rose on Berry Sorbet cardstock, mounted onto Sweet Blush cardstock. I used Spring Moss for the leaves and stamped the image in Fresh Snow. Some light yellow pearls & Berry Sorbet ribbon finished it off. I adhered the rose with foam adhesive.

A book lovers challenge

Happy Monday everyone! I have a sweet little bookmark to share today for the latest challenge over at Cupcake Craft — the theme this week is Bookworm.

The images are from Papertrey Ink’s All Booked Up set, which doesn’t see much it, so I was happy to have a reason to get it out & had so much fun making this simple bookmark. It is a CASE of Nichole Heady’s bookmark from the release of this set.

This weeks sponsor is the fantastic Crafty Emma’s Store…and Emma has provided a £10 gift certficate for the winner!

Our monthly sponsor for May is Crafts U Love and they are offering a £15 Gift Voucher as the monthly prize!
Make sure to head over to Cupcake to play along!

Thanks for stopping by :-)

In the round

A super quick post tonight – I made a big mess making cards today and I’ve got to clean up before my other half gets home!

I never make round cards, but was inspired by the current challenge at Card Patterns & I thought I’d give it a try. This little number came together in no time and it is so sweet & cheerful – perfect for a new little boy! A great use of double-sided paper, which I often feel so guilty about using (I can’t stand the thought of one gorgeous side being stuck down forever!). Please excuse the bare nails!

The colors for this challenge are for the CR84FN Color challenge & because I used some chipboard stickers, this is also going into the Wee Memories challenge.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend!

Oh, Baby!

Wednesday evening already? I seriously don’t know where the time goes!

A couple baby cards to share today – I had so much fun using some sweet My Minds Eye Alphabet Soup chipboard for these.

This first card is a CASE of the super talented Laurie Willison’s card here. I was in love with this card when I saw it and really hope she doesn’t mind that I’ve borrowed the design & her clever use of gingham. She is one of my all time fave designers – I could CASE all her stuff!

Another simple & sweet little baby card – used some buttons & twine on this one for the current CAS-ual Friday challenge. Both cards also use stickers, so they’re going in for the current Wee Memories challenge.
Thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone’s weeks are off to a good start. I’m sort of having ‘one of those days’, but hoping to squeeze in a wee bit of crafty time tonight to end it on the right foot ;-)

I’m sharing a very cheerful little card today for the new Cupcake Craft Challenge & there is so much fun stuff going on over there this week. First, the challenge is ‘In the Garden’ – how great is that? The options are endless…I had so much fun with all this bright felt.

Also, this week we’re lucky to be joined by our newest cupcake, Jane, and to celebrate The Ribbon Girl is offering a gorgeous stash of Baker’s Twine (I’m in love with this stuff!). To be eligible for this great prize, head over to Jane’s blog and leave her some love. The winner will be chosen randomly from this blog entry.

A lost blog entry!!

Hi faithful blog friends!

So, I was delighted to see my card linked up over at Moxie Fab World today. What an honor! Then I realized the post wasn’t there – it has genuinely just disappeared. Shock & horror.

So, I thought I would just share the card quickly again and hope that anyone coming from Moxie Fab will find it! I am chocking this up to the 24 hrs of Blogger mess…

Some Pink Persimmon Baby Clothes Line + Papertrey Ink Inside & Out: Baby & plenty of yummy October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket & Crate Paper – bliss.

Thanks for indulging me in this re-post tonight :-)
