TGIF

Happy Friday everyone!

I had a request from someone recently for an engagement card and realized I’ve never come across a ‘Congratulations on your engagement’ sentiment in any stamp set — has anyone else? It is very common in the  UK to send engagement cards — and I’ve lived here long enough that I can’t remember if this is done in the states — is it?!?! Anyway, its on my *wish list* of sentiments…

So, onto the task at hand – this card is for Make It Mondays – Glitter Strips with Scor-tape and also the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop as I was able to use this lovely scalloped circle from Limitless Layers. I was definitely inspired by Dawn’s card in the video and already had my sites set on using this mat stack frame for the card as it is perfect for a wedding theme! The card says ‘Congratulations’ and it is a little hard to see in the picture, but fine in person!

The colors are inspired by the current Totally Hues Challenge over at the lovely Heather’s blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

A big birthday!

A fun, quick card today that is a real departure from my usual style. It is a simple sketch, based on the current sketch for the Sketch Sunday challenge over at Tiffany’s blog, I heart art, but the papers, colors and motifs are much more vintage than my usual style. The recipient has definitely influenced the ‘look’ – I think she will appreciate the vintage motifs.

I was inspired by Dawn McVey‘s card on page 78 of Paper Crafts Card Creations – so this card is also going into the ‘Source of Inspiration’ challenge over at Wee Memories.

The color scheme of browns, blacks and creams also works perfectly for the ‘Coffee & Cream’ challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog!

Thanks for stopping by!

Card details:
Cardstock: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Thrift Shop (October Afternoon)
Stamps: letters (Woodware), graph background stamp (Hero Arts)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Antique Photo Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accessories: ribbon (Papertrey Ink), tiny attacher (Ranger), sewing machine, die cut notebook page (Papertrey Ink), Cricut Expression – Opposites Attract

More baby cards…

Hi everyone!

Another baby girl card to share today. I got to use some yummy October Afternoon paper on this creation – I do loooove their papers. This card is for the current challenge over at Wee Memories, which is ‘Source of Inspiration.’

I picked up Paper Crafts Color Inspiration for Card Makers for this challenge – every page of this magazine is full of wonderful goodness – I could probably CASE something from each and every page. For this challenge, however, I chose the layout from Maile Belle’s card on page 139 and even used the same sentiment (as I needed a baby card!). I loved the use of twine and the cut off label so incorporated that as well.

Obviously, babies are very special someones, so this card is also for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

My fave color combo!

I was super excited to see the gorgeous color combo over at Stacy’s Stamping Stage this week – this is one of my all time faves – green & pink. I put together this CAS card using this colors – I really love the two-tone pink with the greens. Very fresh & cheerful!

I’ve also submitted this for the current challenge over at Just Add Ink – Just Add Love. I think its important to shower friends with lots of love as well, so thought this was appropriate!
