Sparkling Love Birds

Today’s card is for my dear, dear friend who recently got engaged. This card was initially intended for Valentine’s Day, but I needed something ASAP, so it is now an engagement card – I think it works – what do you think?
It is another card using gray for the Gray is the New Black challenge over at Moxie Fab World. The card was inspired by this sketch over at Lucy’s Cards. I love her work and was so excited about her sketch week. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to play along, but still using the sketches to get my creative juices flowing! And, because this did start off as a Valentine’s Day card I am going to enter it in the current Paper Players challenge.
 Here is the sketch:

The background is the new Hero Arts Large Fabric Background Design. This type of stamp is very out of my comfort zone – more sophisticated/elegant vs. simple or cute (my usual style). I embossed with clear embossing powder & inked the entire piece with Weathered Wool Distress Ink – I love doing this – there is something very satisfying about being covered in ink! Next, cut the pink cardstock with Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 3, stamped Love Birds & the birdcage, added some glitter and called it a day! As the look of this is ‘out of my comfort zone’ I’m also entering it in the current Passion for Papertrey challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!
